Acidic is top 3 zoner

-Normal projectile is +6 on hit, does DOT after hit and if the opponent is standing on the puddle.
-Ex normal is +9 on block ^same properties
-air is decent ^same properties
-db4 they can't run (like caltrops)
-d4 is insane and does dot

Sektor is too good. I think he needs more nerfs. NRS should take a serious look at his OP zoning and focus on him.

Since they're gonna Nerf if another patch comes anyway, I don't see the point of Up Playing what characters might actually be the best zoner, so it's best to focus on the true OP zoner who still hasn't been adjusted properly.. No need to point out any other zoners than Sektor. :coffee:

Can't the zoning academy get a break from this. I mean its like they see this thread and are killing zoning as a strategy

can't really blame them, considering their shitty track record of balancing these kinds of characters
If they rush you down or 50/50 you they're allowed to have broken frames/moves in MKX. A-List Cage, SQ D'Vorah, CSZ, etc is considered fine to them, but let a zoner release with keepaway anything close to as broken as some of the offensive pressure in this game and they riot.

Balanced Kenshi has to have death whiff recovery and negative on hit specials in balanced, but A-List can have half screen reaching high priority 11f combo starting +15 on block can be cancelled on whiff non low profiled mid hitting normals. Sektor had to be "adjusted" for release but CSZ can touch you one time and mix you up until death.

This is the true definition of "Paulo's vision".

I haven't played a "zoning" character in MKX in a while. What's the current status of each zoner? Who's the strongest? I know Cybernetic Kano just got hit with nerf-bat.

Pretty lady is great , having tons of fun using this variation. Dunno @ alien ,have not played much with him yet.

well consider earlier games with Freddy with full screen frame traps, MK9 Kenshi who didn't let half the roster play the game, Kabal (he was a Swiss army knife but his zoning matters here), the heavyweight zoners of IGAU like Zod and Sinestro

I'm just saying it's not surprising that they don't want a lot of it in MKX, but it's certainly not 'okay' to prematurely shit on a character after designating them as a zoning character

But my point is they've done that all around, so why single out zoners to get held back? The same people that made Kenshi/Freddy and Zod/Sinestro also made Cyrax/Sonya and Batgirl/Flash/Bane. Yet I haven't seen some huge movement in toning down offense that was as absurd as the defense.

They've clearly went out of their way to prevent a strong zoning based only character that excels in most MUs, but have no problem with strong rushdown/mixup based only character that excels in most MUs. Why is supreme zoning unacceptable but supreme pressure is acceptable balance?

That is one of the main reasons why this game lacks diversity in playstyle and is very linear. Even Quan who was a "zoner" biggest strength was hardtoblock 50/50's that loop. Almost always it's better to rush your opponent down and do some ambiguous mixup than any other type of play.

This is one of my biggest problems in MKX. I really wanted to like Quan at launch, but I felt like I was gimping myself by trying to zone instead of being a blender. I am hoping for Alien not to be a complete lie when I get the chance to start testing.

What do y'all think of the new Pyromancer? I never tried this variation before but I'm having a ton of fun with her and her fireball game seems decent.
