General/Other - Tremor Tremor General Discussion Thread

IrishMantis

Most humble shit talker ever!!!
Can anyone let me know how many and which moves of Tremors are armoured (all variations) and if there are any gaps in his strings to backdash or armour? Updating mkxframedata and noticed that Tremor has nothing noted here.
All his shatter and Stone punch specials have armour and you can backdash his Crystalune shatter

I've been preoccupied the last few days and am presently looking through threads. Has there been any discussion on what the Tremor community would like to see from him in the next patch?

What do you guys feel like tremor's match-up chart would look like? Personally I feel at a slight disadvantage against Jax, Lui Kang, Johnny Cage, Takeda, and Shinnok. I feel at slight advantage against Kung Lao (crystalline only), Kotal, Raiden, D'vorah and Jason. All others either seem even ish or (for a large majority) I just don't know the match-up well enough to even comment. Tanya for instance. I have no idea what's going on there...

Based of this, is this why tremor is so highly regarded? Because i questioned some of these tier list puting tremor at s-tier.

I mean he is pretty damn good, lol. Keep in mind those are just my vague feelings. I was hoping for others to weigh in and either agree or disagree. I could be completely wrong, and he might wreck half of the characters I put at disadvantage. But assuming I'm right there are two other things that could be happening, first almost everyone is ranking characters on their best variation. So in Tremor's case crystalline, which is the variation I use the least. His armor in that variation may be an equalizing factor in those tougher match-ups. I haven't even incorporated all of the gaps he can blow up with it into my game yet. Second, lots of the lists seems to be making the tiers on tools rather than match-ups. I blame that on the sheer scope of the game though, it'll take forever to flesh out every variation vs every variation.

I haven't played against enough JC, Tanya, Takeda or Shinnok to really comment on it. Though I like Crystal against non Ronin, and A-List seems like it could be rough sailing. But other wise for those I feel for the ones you listed in my opinion it's

Good: Raiden, D'vorah, Jason obviously

I feel like he can zone all of them pretty well and won't get bullied.

Even matchups: Jax, Kung Lao, War/Sun Kotal

Aftershock vs Jax has served me well, but he's a savage in the corner. Crystal* vs Tempest is a godsend. I like Metallic for Hat Trick/Buzz saw though, feel like I get more out of the restand and the gold rocks then the shatter/flex armor. But Kung Lao got too much going for him for me to say anything past even.

Bad matchups: DF Liu Kang, and maybe BG Kotal

Liu Kang: I can't get anything out of Crystal or Metallic. Fireballs and bruce lee kick can ruin zoning attempts. Normals too good to really keep up the crystal armor, gold balls too slow to contend. Maybe lava with it's restands can do better but he has to get in which leads to the real problem. Liu can just bully Tremor, great pressure, he can armor break all day, a good poke to low profile, good normals, ect. Might just be me but this is the only matchup that makes the character feel weak, and usually I find a better answer for a struggle MU with a different variation but not here.

Kotal: This might be more even but I feel like this can be trouble. I feel comfortable with War/Sun God vs Crystal. But I like what Blood God has going on. In the right hands he can tank through Tremor's zoning. He can parry everything but the ground pound and can heal while doing it. For getting in(which he may not need to do) and dealing with the projectiles he has nice advancing strings and a jump in punch that would make Dhalsim proud. And he has the bully normals, d1 for days against Tremor.

Interesting, I've always found war god much harder. But I haven't tried out crystalline too much vs him yet. I didn't know they could parry overhead rock maybe that changes things... BG has some great pressure but I find him easier to block than WG. His totem makes him super scary in the corner, but his lack of wake-up means you can really bully him on knockdown. I also don't have much exp vs sun god.

Yea War God has so much more going on on offense the Blood God no doubt about it. He doesn't have those mixups but man the guy will not die sometimes. I can't really decide on this one honestly, sometimes I feel like it's more even sometimes I feel like WG and BG are 6-4 against Tremor. It's just tough to find a really good blood god who can do his parry shenanigans online. I've had a bit of success with BG vs Tremor but like you said he doesn't have the best options against Tremor's nasty corner game. Overall I think Kotal's pokes, parry and WG's armored moves give him the tools to contend, but I keep changing my mind if I want to call it even or give Kotal the edge. In my experience it's definitely not as bad as the Liu MU.

Some matchup experience against HQT Pred/Tremor/Raiden as Aftershock.
After watching myself play I think I sometimes rush way too much, probably need to slow down against certain matchups.

So I was baiting reversals in a match against Reptile's EX Slide with Flash Parry, it kept going through the Slide and sometimes my F1 kept hitting Reptile! I think this might be a bug because 60% of the time my F1 whiffs and he goes through him!

Played one match against this guy using Cassie. Go for the f121 yolo up rock in the final round, guy does Xray and gets staggered out of it. End up winning. Guy rage quits. Up rock strikes again.

I've been using this for awhile but I never got around to posting it, Since Tremor's flash parry eats nearly all armor, it's good way to bait reversals and punish them. Reptile's EX Invisibility, Cassie's EX Nutpunch and Goro's EX Punchwalk is safe!

Is metallic a viable option online, and if so does anyone have any online matches to show how to properly use him.

I find matallic to be very fun and viable. I havent been able to play in a while but i will try and get some matches with a friend in to show some gameplay. With the new netcode, I will finally be able to get his f121 stone punch cancels to jail more consistently. I have so many cancel problems online it is sad.

all 3 of his variations are very viable in my opinion. metallic for sure has the highest meterless damage of his 3 variations (mid screen 38% bnb combos, thats the highest i can do anyway without ex groundpound) unbreakable dmg for days if a wheel lands (seriously, if a wheel lands full screen you can get five wheels on them and right after the last one hits follow up with ex groundpound for a 1 bar 43% unbreakable combo) his corner game is nuts cuz of the restands. AND rock drop restands them even if they hit them while they are jumping (with lava up) leading to full combos. This is his most overlooked variation and is HIGHLY underrated in my opinion.
