I've seen people doing Ruthless stuff like 11~PnGC, f2, NJP...

I don't have time to test it right now, but wanted to ask why aren't those in compilation above. Is it not reliable / not optimal / something else?

Because the person who made the thread has not been active for months to update it. Meaning it all falls on @Alien Substance and updating threads can be quite time consuming.

I think he's talking about joeldm's combo video on this page, not the original post.

@Barrogh The reason is probably that 11xx PnG or B12xx PnG etc... are normally punishes and not regular combos unless you can actually hit confirm them. But that's not always the case since you can do some mind games with PnG in the middle of blockstrings.

My go-to punish right now is something to the effect of 11xx PnGxx Run, F2, NJP, (only if distance is correct) B121xx DBF1. That particular one may or may not be 100% optimal, but pretty close.

B121xx PnGRC F2 can be hit confirmed its ust a tighter cancel. The others are mostly used for punishes or as a follow up to a normal pain n gain flash parry.

So if someone does a one hitting wake up you can pain n gain raw and absorb it, then do 11 pain n gain run cancel F2 into full combo with 2 stacks of damage. 4 xxPnGRC F2 would be the max damage

Due to my limited access to TYM these days I wasn't talking specifically about this thread (although OP played its role), but about stuff I see people doing/posting al over the place (granted, not that I see a lot, but still).

B121~pngc~11,2+4, d3, d1, d1, d1, d1, d1, d1, 4~dbf1 35%. (Easier, but 2% less than the above.

Could you add these to the Ruthless corner combos?

4xxPnG, rc, f2, njp, f3~1,1~b121xxdbf1 = 41%
4xxPnG, rc, f2, njp, f3, f2, d3xxbf1 = 41% (d3xxbf1 = d3xxdbf1, the down on d3 counts towards the command grab input)

set ups

starterxxPnG, f2, njp, f3, 2, f4 = take super teensy tiny step forward for perfect b2 launcher range
ending with 2, b4 drops them right in front, so better using d1/4 at this range

(corner 1 bar)
b2,3,2+4, d2, rc, b121xxEXdbf1 = 31%

last one is pretty tight, but also pretty swag.

I'm starting to wonder why F/T players feel like they need their own notation system. Especially jarring since OP is a vet who was around for much longer.

jokes aside is there a way to work that out? I tried to to png before but it's not enough time to do a second png mid combo and land f2. also ending the combo in a command grab doesn't work unfortunately

holy shit!! No I did not know this. Pretty swaggy, I'll have to mess with this, get some more damage out of it.

Yeah it's pretty cool you can also do f2,f2,pngc,b1212 and things like that. Still haven't managed to do this while starting the combo with a cancel or getting enough time to end the combo with a command grab so I'm curious if you guys can do anything with that.

gravity kicks in too much to do it after any launching combo, I think the best bet is to just MB the throw for a 50\50 idk though I didn't put too much effort in.

had no idea this was possible. I'll have to mess around with it for sure! Also, it's weird to hear Ferra in another language.
 
Not sure if this is in here yet but I found a nice combo to whiff punish with Lackey.

F3--EX Torryuken, F3, F4, F3, 4--Roll.

Hits for 36% and puts you in perfect range for a jump in punch or whatever follow up of your choosing!
