you're waiting too long before cancelling into another block string

Im doing it as fast as i can but still 2 in a row are very rare like 2 in a 100 cancels , i have more than 50% stamina still cant do more than 1 fireball cancel , its on PC btw maybe its something there ?

If Liu kang cancels his f4 string into fb and dashes forward is it interruptable or nah? If so what is the frame gap? I want to test it but I'm at work right now and can't so just hoping to get some info from here first.

if you dash out of the fb cancel you're not plus and they'll be able to do whatever out of it. You'll have to run cancel out of the fb cancel and I'm pretty sure they can only armour out of the 213 fb cx run. After the f44 fb cx run I'm prettysure you are plus but I stil think it's interruptable by armour n ting

No problem . I think 214 fb cx into f44 is a true block string actually. f44 (and other strings) is the one they can armour out of

Thank you for this I was dashing out of the fb and going crazy because it wouldn't combo.

MK scrub here, but what's the deal with crouchable mids?

F444 can be crouched at certain ranges and sometimes up close
flame fist ex fireball is completely crouchable

just wanted to know if this is a normal part of MK

So I have been struggling with the FB cancel for a couple of days now and I finally have it down. The best advise I can give for those in the same situation is, concentrate on really clean inputs and hold 1 until you SEE the animation start or the option select will mess with you. I thought for the longest time I wasn't doing it fast enough but I was trying to do the RC before I would even see the FB animation start. Hope this helps.

Did b12 change at all? F21 just means no more free frame trap. Defnitely a loss, but an acceptable one for df at least.

I think B12 was always negative.

I think that string was neutral on block, could be wrong.
The fact that B34 is now +2 on block doesn't really help Liu is what I think.
The advantage of F21 being the +2 string is that it was 9-frame start-up, had decent range(although the 1 could whiff) + it with was easy to setup and use if you had no stamina.

But maybe something good can come out of it.

Hitconfirm. I just put in the directions and wait to press the button to see a hit, or I'll pres 1 if they block to go into a run cancel since its fbf anyway.

Theres an option select in the game where you can input a special at the end of a string, and then if you decide you dont want the special to come out, you can hit any button
Opponent blocks: f44 b43 then any direction, bicycle kicks wont come out. If you do it early enough, you may have time to input a db2 right after

pure zoning? probably not, but for what you lose in versatility I would not recommend picking flame fist over it. Then again flame fist can insta win you some matches if you got damage aura up lol.

for example playing wrestler jax flame fist is easier to beat him compared to df as buff fireballs help a lot

Has anyone found a use for f21u4? There is a gap between the u4 and a db2 so I was thinking to use it to bait a normal but it's all risk and almost no reward because of the oppenents armour. Just throwing out an idea so that someone might be able to find a good use.

I notice that the u+4 part or special follow up (I follow up with either db+2 or low fireball due to the pushback u+4 creates) rarely gets blocked.
Even people that are familiar with my Liu Kang tend to get hit by it, so if u use it very sparingly like I do then it can come in handy to mix things up.

But other than that, I don't think there's much use to it.

In ff I use to use it as a fake way to setup the buff every now and then because it feels like it has heavy blockstun. Other than that, I'll ocassionaly do a low fireball out of it to get a cheap hit for the same reason, or as said db2 to catch em pressing buttons.
