Breakthrough Joker 100% reset in the corner 1/2 bars

Well he can teleport out of both the MB f3 and the j2 crossup. Your options are to go for one (reading that he isn't going to teleport), or jump back and try to catch him (reading that he will teleport).

I always either jump back 2, then use D2 to keep him in the corner if I guessed wrong, or more likely I'll go for the OTG setups against Shazam so that he can't teleport.
Indeed. Shazam is a character that I might want to throw down those fast restands in against. And, yeah, just simply crowbar enders as well.

I think that's exactly what NRS tried to avoid while designing him, which lead to his falling short at fighting midscreen.
You know the more tech you and Qwark28 put out gives me the impression NRS wanted a character that would have traits similar to Cyrax and Sub-Zero.

Qwark would probably disagree with that point in terms of Sub-Zero, but I see what you mean. People have been saying he's a shitty Cyrax since the game came out. It's hard to compare him to either of them to me, since he has some similar ideas, but a bunch of his own tools in a game that's not terribly similar. I wish people couldn't just walk over teeth, as if they were ice clones (like a proximity pop feature; woulda been sick). I like his design overall, I just think they fell short in some imaginative senses.... *coughTRAITcough*.

Red Reaper

The Hyrax Whisperer
Pick him up and you'll see just how technical he is.
Red Hood joker would be the main reason why I would konsider picking him up but I don't have it.

PS: I somehow doubt he's more technical than what I've already experienced from my characters.

How negative is Joker's d2 on block? What's the point of Shazam just not teleporting, blocking high and then d1ing your d2?

Yea I mean NRS took a little bit of concepts/ideas from both Cyrax and Sub-Zero, but with that was able to make The Joker of his own kind.

Well, he's saying he would jump back first, so he'd be out of d1 range.
Joker's d2 is pretty negative (-14 on block I believe), but you can make it safe by cancelling into flower, which is +5 on block and +3 on hit, giving you a free b1 or another flower until you get spaced out by the pushback on block.

Yeah, I know about the jump back. I'm just saying when he lands and d2s, but I didn't know about the flower cancel. Can all of jokers normals bbe cancelled into flower?

Well, a few things. He'll still be sitting on teeth, so his options are limited. If he blocks low, he has to watch for d2 xx crowbar. The spacing won't let shazam punish the d2, and like I said, can be made safe anyway. On hit from the d2, Joker can still do a small conversion into crowbar and keep you in the corner. On block, he has to still respect the teeth, but can jump out (I think) if the Joker player doesn't cancel into something before the teeth go off.
But either way, this situation we're talking about is when he guesses wrong (jumps back when you don't wakeup), so any advantage that he can maintain is awesome, but you're reward for guessing correctly is potentially escaping the setup if you play it right.

So if Shazam just blocks high then he's good?
