b3 after b23? Possible, but tricky.

Try this : b23, d2, b3. It's character dependent and so far only Raven falls out consistently.

Is the grabs range better than before ? Because I just tried and it seems it's not. Fuck me :(

If you do them raw I think the improvements are more noticeable. It won't help much for combos, I found.

Try this : b23, d2, b3. It's character dependent and so far only Raven falls out consistently.
It's a solid combo, but tbh, unless you want max meterless damage from b23, it's better to just do b23 f223 AC. 27% + AC positioning.

That AC buff is HUGE. :D 40% off raw HM all the way to AC is glorious. Also, MB AC leading back to 38% + AC positioning is great.

Well, we can confirm off a raw b2 now. Before if you did b2 midscreen but didn't follow it up with anything you couldn't recover and go into HM. Post patch you can.

Ok, I just did it, looks very tie. This makes b23 almost useless since it's an unsafe option x)

But I expected something better, like a better range to catch from further on an empty hm.

You can also AC after 2 blocked crouching 1's now, I can't get the timing for b23>d2>b3..but then again I only tried briefly.

Technically b23 is still safer, but if they're expecting b2xxtp/at/3 then yes it can be seen that way.

Aaahh, that a good new =)

EDIT : I just tried the range doing empty low grabs, it looks to go further, that's very good. Too bad the Hm is still the same distance.

Ive just been using meter and doing B23, D1, MB achilles clutch, achilles clutch for a little over 32%-37% today in the lab. So easy and damaging I'll blow the bar for it till I can get my timing down on anything else.

HM does have more range now. Pre-patch it just barely reached the opponent from match starting position and now you can back up a bit and it'll still reach. And some (useless) combos are possible now that iirc weren't before like dbf1 MB, b3, j3, f2 xx db1 MB, 3 xx dbf1.

Does HM work after a blocked 3?, I used to do teleport then go for a HM from behind. I guess F12 could work aswell or a MB B3 if they try and poke you. Also could probly do B23 if they try and backdash or b2tele combo if they jump. Unless I'm a scrub and 3 isn't too great :(

I thought I'd be more hype about the HM buff. The AC buff is gigantic. It is such a huge help. It still doesn't entirely replace HM on the damage side, but the overall damage increase might make it more worth it to actually end most combos with the AC ender version.

b23 being unsafe still sucks, but at least he isn't forced to MB HM off of b2 for midscreen damage. Even leads to f223 xx AC.

I wonder if there's any setups off of blocked 3 due to the grab ranges being buffed that didn't exist before.

EDIT: Nvm about 3.

I thought I'd be more hype about the HM buff. The AC buff is gigantic. It is such a huge help. It still doesn't entirely replace HM on the damage side, but the overall damage increase might make it more worth it to actually end most combos with the AC ender version.
Hard knockdown setups that allowed you to enter vortex were better for damage. Now, it's a lot better, damage wise as well, to finish with AC.

Just simmer your beans! "way better" are you emplyed by NRS to just come here and convince everyone Shazam is actually good. The range HARDLY helps. AC hitbox was buffed to not hit as low as before so it is easier in combos, but outside that, nothing changes. Only reason I thought they added range was to fix the 22 string, but it still has holes like a block of cheese.

On a side not I never actually used b23 in games too much because of how unsafe it was but as it launches I've been using it as a whiff punisher and OMG does it HOP! It is horrible lol! Its actually good though how we have to think when using the string, unlike f23 or b23 (BA) !

Also I swear b3 after HMmb has become easier, I used to drop it once per 10 or so tries but the timing is much easier now.

You are like an infinite loop of depressiveness...its bad when you regurgitate old obvious flaws just to amp the negativity in your post. Trust me it needs no help, im sure everyone knows how sucky you feel by now.

If you see something you think is incorrect you could try being progressive and actually contribute something rather than seeing it as an opportunity to start your poopooing all over again.
 
I think most people who have spent a substantial amount of time with Shazam are going to be pleased with how he plays now. Everything finally clicked for me this morning.

We need a diagram showing the effective ranges of b2, HM, and AC. I have a feeling that AC comes close to covering the range that b2 whiffs at.
