Ermac? he's pretty much all keep-away really.. or you just want the fill the screen with hella BS kinda zoner?This is cool and all, and a great idea, but where is the dedicated zoner with variations based around his zoning? Where is the "scary" looking zoning character? Where? I'm still waiting.
They have variations for the "mix" as you spoke of. They have variations for rushdown characters like Cage and Cassie to be in your face 3 variations. Who knows what they have for Sonya. They have variations where guys keep their tools like Reptile. They have variations where characters play completely different like Kitana and Kung Jin.
But where, where, is the full on zoning specialist character? Unless it's Kenshi and/or Shinnok, which is veryyy possible, I don't think it will be anyone else with so much of the roster revealed. To be honest, I feel like they're purposely trying to tone down zoning due to complaints from people who don't take the time to practice defending against it whining.

Yes you're 100% right. Ermac is a zoner. About the only one revealed so far that I would call that. Maybe Kung Jin's Ancester variation fits the bill as well, but the taste of Green Arrow brings a wait and see approach with him. I just wish Ermac had variations enhancing his zoning to deal with all things, not just different types of zoning moves. I agree with you that they definitely gave zoning a big nerf in general, probably coz of stuff like Kenshi/Freddy/Zod/MMH being hella buff and wrecking hella characters, they're frustrating to get in on especially for new/casual players so maybe they just decided to ditch the whole extreme zoner style and go with more traditional SF style zoning :|
And yeah Kenshi and Shinnok could very well what you're asking for so we'll have to wait and see.
but yeah some characters are pretty much just one archetype with different tools/gimmick, which is disappointing as it feels like a wasted opportunity but whatevs at this point, they prob had their reasons.
Where's Laos reflect?Kitana has a projectile reflect, as does lao and takeda.
And Sub Zero's clone eats projectiles and his ex ice blast goes through other projectiles.

Teleports can work, but generally through good game design they are punishable on block and can be baited.So I am here thinking, where are the anti-zoners in MKX at? Maybe I payed attention but so far I have seen a lot of rushdown characters and zoning characters. Are rushdown characters considered anti zoners? Are teleporters anti-zoner?
