Shitty vortex?

1st of all it is safe, and a vortex, so automatically it is not shitty. Second he does over 20% per rep. If he did much more damage off of a safe vortex that would be a bit excessive don't you think. Dude I thought you were done with this argument in the other thread but you just keep on crying. Maybe you need to open up your mind to find out what the character is really capable of instead of literally freaking out about nothing.

Because the guys I play against jump right over my smoke bomb and punish with combo video combos if I commit.

You can make it safe with EX spear, but IMO the damage scaling is so heavy it's not even worth it. So pick your poison, safe but low damage or unsafe but not so low damage! :DOGE

They had to make that read. And this has been an option since release.
If they're jump happy- commit to B1/3-normal Spear. It's a block string, Spear catches. Teach them not to jump. Or B1/3-Smoke Away.
Then they might armor. Adjust.
That's been the meta. Smoke still has more options than the opponent during his vortex.

It's safe in regards to the opponent just taking it and blocking Smoke Cloud. The options to get out, on a read, don't make it unsafe.

It does make it unsafe. You can option select block a spear or jump out of a smoke bomb. It becomes a read on my part, because once they block the mix up I become the defender. Because seriously... Who's gonna risk doing spear on block like that?

Regardless, it doesn't have to be everytime to dissuade me from using it. I'm hitting for 20%, if they guess right and get the punish I'm getting bopped for 30-50(depending on what character).

Safe if they block the whole thing. If you think they are going to jump out then just anti air them after b1 and don't throw the smoke bomb.

Or use ex harpoon

People love auto pilot stuff and hate making reads it seems

You can't hit confirm one normal into a special, therefore if we're to make the read I would throw out the possibility of comboing them. FUCKING OBVIOUSLY id have to make the read, thats 95% of this game, reads. The point is, canceling into smoke bomb simply isnt safe vs a player that knows how to deal with it and if you dont commit to smoke bomb, you dont get the set up you want.

Ok well I know ppl are gonna disagree or jus not like it but I think ji2 is how we should be ending the vortex , it's the only thing with enough advantage to not have b1 armored out of. Damage is horrible tho , getting 20% off b3 and 22% off b1

I've been to busy with real life to test this post patch but F2 is +29 hit advantage. Why cant we use that?

F1 ain't +20 , I'll be on in a few mins but the the Highest I remember seeing was 21 being +17 now. They nerfed all triborgs normals hit advantage

frame data is wrong. it says its +11 on hit. I did notice that they corrected in game frame data on f2. it says its 10 frame mid now.

Can someone confirm if we actually have a normal that they changed that has more than 17 hit advantage that will leave them close enough for the vortex? I highly doubt it but that would be great if so. I can't test now, I'm at work.

If there isnt we really will be ending in Ji2...the damage is going to be like fucking 18-20% per cycle and is still unsafe if they make the right read. Sucky.

If people know the matchup they're probably going to start backdashing more often on the vortex. with b3 being a 2 frame link any hesitation allows them to get out, or eat a measly mid 20's damage if you're on point with the low.
