Victor, if tournaments were not "Pad-Friendly" Shizza wouldnt have gotten top 8 at evolution... lol^ Oh, okay. And another thing... will they have pad user friendly areas to play? Cause I've never played with a stick and I don't plan to learn in just two days so I'll be needing a PS3 controller for the tourny\casuals.
Sorry I'm so full of questions...hehe.
There are more positives than those you are forgetting, and plenty more that you will never know until you experience a tournament for yourself. Trust me.I talked to my dad and I've made a list of pros and cons:
The good side:
1. I get to play my favorite game(s) with the people whom I've known for years and get to know even better.
2. Lots and lots of fun.
3. I get to learn a lot (consider it a learning experience).
And I'm sure there are many other positive things I'm forgetting...
Are you guys the only ones driving down here? Maybe someone else can come along who can drive. The bad side:
1. I don't have a license so me and Jeriome can't switch off while driving.
2. I have a bad back and it's not very car friendly (especially really long trips).
The tournament starts on Saturday, so you're good.3. It's a 20 HOUR drive from here to Los Angeles, so presumably I would leave around Friday after school gets out (let's say 5 to 6 PM), and then I would get there some time late in the afternoon the next day, which means I would only have about maybe a day to actually play some games, get to meet\know everyone, then I'd have to turn all the way around and make the grueling 20 hour drive back home.
Use those $50 for food, you don't have to pay for a hotel room. You can crash in our room.4. I don't have any money hardly. Maybe $50?
Were all friends down here man. All you have to do is register for the games you want to play, come down here and have fun.5. I don't wanna burden you guys or anyone else with extra expenses and I don't want to feel like a moocher or anything, haha.
Oh you have no idea, V. It will be the best weekend of your life... Including the ride down here... lolIt just doesn't seem like there's enough time for me to come down there and have fun. I'd be spending more hours in the actual car than I would with you guys, Street Fighting and MK'ing it up. Almost seems pointless, no offense. I want to go, but in all realness, do you think it would actually be worth it?
i had an uncle living there too. he later moved to Portland. if u can get to my city, u can ride with me.I feel like a dick getting a ride all the way there and back from just one person. I calculated it; it would cost just over $400 in gas alone, and I can't help pay for that hardly.
@Twz - Beaverton, bro.
Victor, if tournaments were not "Pad-Friendly" Shizza wouldnt have gotten top 8 at evolution... lol
Of course you can use a pad. Shoot, I'm using a pad for UMK3... lol

Read the tournament results thread here on TYM, and just read peoples first time reactions.

There are always break stops you guys can make too.

I booked a room for friday night and saturday night.

I'm actually going to buy some captain crunch, and maybe bread and cheap food for the weekend. So were good in that department.

If you don't believe me, ask anybody who attended NEC, EVO2K10, etc.
Shoot, Arez had a blast, and from what I heard, he wasnt there for as long as he wanted to. < This is the part where Arez tells you his experience... lol
aww man... I thought you had already got a flight.I have some bad news to inform, I wil not be attending WCW3. Its nobodys fault but mine. I waiting too long to book MY flight i checked on flights 4 days ago it was 400 rt w taxes. Now its 788 rt thats not including taxes. I wish i would have known about this. I would have booked my flight alot sooner. Like i said i feel like i let everybody down. Im very sorry Glen. I just cant afford to pay 800 dollars for a flight thats a rip off i called priceline Travelocity expedia. I asked why the price doubled within a few days and they all said the same thing. They couldnt do anything about it. Anyway i just wanted to apologize to u guys. I had already registered to WCW3 and had payed for UMK3 and MKVSDC. Glen if theres anyway somebody else could take my spot that would be Great. I will know better next time. Procrastination is not a good thing. This will serve as me as knowledge on future tournaments il'll know better next time. So once again guys im very sorry.
Why are you coming down to Portland if you live in Cali?im not in OR. Im in CA.
when i leave depends on when Andrew is arriving & my work schedule on Fri.
Believe me, Victor. Its not bullshit after the tournament is over. Why are you coming down to Portland if you live in Cali?
And why are these tournaments so damn expensive? I got to use all of my damn money I got for Christmas just for a days worth of gaming? I mean come on! With all due respect, this is bull shit.
This^^ L2D its hard to put into words and explain it to someone who hasnt gone to one of these yet. A year ago I didnt get it either. You just have to trust what Bone is telling you because its true. There's no other experience like it. Do tourney's lighten your wallet? Sure they do. I spent over $400 at NEC this past December, and Il probably spend nearly the same amount in February come Winter Brawl. But its worth it man, its worth every penny.Believe me, Victor. Its not bullshit after the tournament is over.
You don't understand because this would be your first, but after this day, I guarantee you to be hooked... lol
Man, I really wanted to see you play...well guys my boss just told me i have to work sat, so im out of the tourny and 30 bucks. Good luck to the rest that are going
You don't have to worry about a deadline if you arrive on Friday. You can register on the last minute.I'll try and contact Jeriome later. Is there a particular deadline?
I got so much school work to do. :\
MKvsDC starts at 11:00am on Saturday right after Marvel vs Capcom 2.what time does mk dc start on sat im gonna try to work something out with my boss
Can you get here before 3:00pm? Maybe around 12:00pm so I can get your money and add it to my card? We check in at 3:00pmso what time should I get there tomorrow and who should I contact when I arrive?
