I tried yesterday, and it was a mid. In both metalic and lava.

Not sure to understand the second sentence, but I do what works online that is all ^^
go into training mode, pick goro, put on crouch without blocking, its a high, in both stances

yea thats what the sentence meant, online strats. like mashing d1/d3 when someone hits you with a poke

Ok, so it's a high, but it's written mid :/

Online is a different game from offline. Even you have many free jumps that wouldn't work offline.

yea that's kinda my point....
the attitude of "i do what works online" is always going to hurt the player if you go into a offline setting.
i see little point of trying to use online as a training tool if im going to just try exploit frame drops etc
@FireBreather is always giving out to me for not playing like a online sonya haha, "frame data? whats that? people can aa a jump? nah not to worry" :joker:

I've never seen people trying to AA with standing 1, and when they do so, they get rapped :/

You do know that DB2D is punishable, right?
My opponents does not. :DOGE Most of the time, they're trying to poke after it (when it's too late), so the armor is working like a charm ;) Action/reaction. If someone never punish you, there is no reason to not abuse of gimmick. If I get punish, obviously I will change my gameplan. I won 1000€ doing so offline with Tanya. ;)

Clearly you've never been on r/Kappa. TYM is a pretty friendly community, as long as you don't ask incredibly stupid questions or shitpost.
i dont go on rkappa but do they talk trash about sf4 as much as they trash mkx here? i know they are generally nasty about the fighting game players but they also donate a lot of money too. i followed 8 games in the fgc since 09 and this community is the only one that consistently trashes the game they hate on it but will play it and travel to play it. its the weirdest thing. i even see people from tym and prominent members of this community go to twitch chats and say mkx sucks dont play it. i dont feel tym is very friendly tbh

Maybe you don't feel TYM is friendly because you post shit like you did in this thread and get not so nice responses.

BF2 (at least in Crystal) is a mid when EX'd, and +21 on block. Probably the same for everyone.

I like BF2 a lot actually. It's so satisfying. With some good zoning patterns, it's not too difficult to get out. Startup is undoubtably slow but pretty dang fair for what it does. Normal version is +13 on block and allows conversion midscreen if it hits as an AA (which is mainly what I try to use it for), with some very nice hit advantage standing. EX version allows conversions on hit in the corner, regardless of stand or air.

untrue, bf2 metallica is not a mid, its still a high

ps. blocked db2d to ex db2d?? why do you always play online prison rules lol
Blocked move into armoured move isn't just an online tactic. Djt did it successfully many times against forever king. Overhead hat into mb spin. It's a good conditioning tool.

It depends of the matchup. To me, Metallic is the best zoning variation against Kitana for example. Also, bf2 is mid in metallic.

Not really convinced by that video. Going to hae to play someone that looks like they know what they're doing.

I think the difference here is that db2d is punishable. MB spin is also 6 frames. I would only do EX db2d on a counter poke read like after a blocked f12.

when you jokingly give out to me for trying to playing the game online like its offline. ie. not jumping all day like online sonyas
"dont try play offline online, just fucking mash those pokes man"
Oh righti thought you said I said it he opposite as in use online rules offline haha

You see him trying to zone me, and it doesn't work. I can't zone him with the other 2 variations. Also, try this metalic zoning against JC, Kotal, Outlaw, and you will see that it's more efficient than the other 2 variations' zoning. However, against a Liukang, Aftershock will be better @AssassiN . Really depends of the matchup, so I believe there is no "better Tremmor zoning variation"

Sonicfox won a lot of matches doing (outlaw) db4, db4 ex. When people doesn't know the matchup, some gimmick stuff are allowed, especially online.

Hmm yea I agree although if you see an opponent miss a punish sometimes you gotta throw something out there, that's what makes SF so good. He'll 'just do it' even against great opponents, make them respect you or show you that they know the match-up. Once that's there mind games start. Obviously at that level punishes shouldn't be missed though.

Ofcourse if it seems like your opponent doesn't know something, abuse that. But that's not a legitimate bullet point in a discussion of tactics and character strengths.

Because when we're talking about Tremor zoning in a matchup, db2d ex has something to do with it ? Oo

If you are not convinced, best way is to try yourself in those matchups.

We're going to have to play a lot more though, could only play a few matches yesterday.
So let's play more soon, need to get more used to Tremor. Not interested in playing Takeda? :p

I was joking ^^ I just said I see A LOT of Takeda since the patch xD that's why I was screaming xD

For the Tremor/Lk mu, I guess it would have been harder for me to manage your zoning with the other 2 variations (metalic and crystal).

Are there? Been a while since I've played against a Takeda. Don't even know the MU with Liu :p.

It would have been harder in the other 2 MU's, the air Earthquake(or whatever it's called) doesn't allow Liu to zone or give him a hard time playing the footsie and tripguard game that Liu's great in.

I actually like Metallic for Kitana, because she can rape you if you get hit in the air with a fan. There's some other matchups that I like Metallic for as well.

But still I don't see it being overall comparable to aftershocks zoning. I think aftershock gets the better matchups and it's all due to the air poke. If for nothing else, a mistake(generally) with the air ground pound is way less punishable then a mistake with the golden spike rocks.(lol, can't remember name) If you miss a midscreen keep away gold spike rock, then the opponent is up close. Plus, you can actually move away from the opponent while staying on offense with Aftershock.

Either way, I think Metallic jumped up the totem pole with it's patch buffs, but I just think Aftershocks AGP is one of the best moves in the game and that it gives Aftershock an advantage in the zoning game for most matchups. It also gives you more choice, more "mixups" and general AGP shenanigans like punishing a low poke up close.(Which can be a big problem in the other variations.) But that last sentence is less about zoning and more in general.
