Wow very nice :confused: so weird too.. But did you test it with big hitbox characters too? Maybe it whiffed because of the low hitbox
Works on everybody the exact way I did it in the vid.

Except for DS, NW, Cyborg.

And in their cases, you can simply fly down a tiny bit before doing the flight 2 MC MB and then the MB will whiff, allowing the rest of the combo to connect.

wait wait wait, all of those have not been hard knockdowns for a long time. i'm not sure if it was like that day 1 and one of the patches changed it, but it has been that way since at least scorpion i know for sure. her b1,3 is the only true knockdown she has i believe. i like to do that after an anti-air if it will hit. i hate how ppl always tech roll all her shit online just cuz they are mashing lol

Yo. I am really upset right now. You can't tell me this ain't bullshit. I've been trying to end as many combos as I can to either push to the corner, or end in air D3. Sweep and air D3 set up almost my ENTIRE wakeup game because of the hard knockdown. Without that shit.... well wth man? Cyborg and Superman get to roll away almost for free and there's no other way to set up the 3~WE tech except in the corner.

Why ON EARTH would HG need a nerf? What did she do other than be mid-tier?

Ok...time to cut the shit and we become a loud community. We need to address this issue and tag the NRS guys on this site AS WELL as our requested buffs. We need to decide what we want to mention to them...because they do listen.
1.) I want B3 to be sped up...it doesn't seem natural to be so slow and it rarely connects after 123...
2.) Do we want to ask for the Air Flight block move?
3.) I want her Mace Charge to be 0 on block....ESPECIALLY if they took this HKD away from us on purpose.

I will make a thread in the morning as soon as we decide, as a community, for what to request/demand. :)
Word up. I wanna make requests, but I'm real upset right now, so they may end up sounding like demands.


Fixes:
- make b2 a true mid (people duck it all the time)
- make ground mace toss a true mid (Pretty much the entire cast can duck it. If you can duck it, IT AIN'T A MID)

Buffs:
- speed up B3 (this is a pathetic excuse for a B3 and her B3 MB blows it's practically unusable because it's so friggin slow. 27-29 frames would be fine)
- cut down the frames on whiff of ground mace toss (it's gotta be -100 on whiff right now. It needs to be more reasonable. If I whiff a MTu it's not nearly as bad. Make the whiff recovery of MT the same as MTu)
- get rid of that ridiculous whiff animation on air mace toss mb on whiff (when the mb whiffs, HG does this ridiculous pop up animation where she floats in the air for about 20+ frames. It's weird, unnecessary, and it blows)
- make WE3 two hits vs grounded opponents (armor breaker vs grounded opponents, but it doesn't scale in combos)
- change WE1 into something useful (because I'm pretty sure it's the least used special move in the game. There is no motivation to even try to use this thing)
- Allow blocking of only projectiles while in Flight
or
- Allow MB Flight to absorb a single hit in Flight and still be able to move/strike/Fly. Let the meter burn cost 2 bars.
- give WE2 more range
- Give us back the hard knockdown off of Divekick.
 
i remember reading in here one of the regular HG posters said they were specifically doing 1,2,3, j2,d3 after a WE2 because of the knockdown (i wanna say espio but im not sure), and i thought hmm they can still tech roll it though but its still better options than MC when they tech roll that.

that was weeks ago. i could swear it was before zod release

edit: not espio, but boodendorf said it in the bnb forum on june 27. zod came out july 2nd, so yea, been that way for a while now. the timing is just weird for them to tech roll the dive kick

You could hear people mashing away after I connected a divekick online. Not even one from a combo. Just a normal IAdivekick. And they weren't rolling.

This was as recent as last week. You could NOT tech roll it. You don't think people wouldn't be techrolling all this time? You think people WANT to stay right where HG is over them?
 
most people are A)dumb B)assuming its a hard knockdown and not trying/they never gave a shit about learning HG matchup

i know i set the practice mode dummy to roll many weeks ago after i became frustrated with tech rolls in my matches, and the only one it didnt roll was b1,3. i'm sorry if you guys believed otherwise but thats how it has been. unless there is some weird issue where a hotfix messed with things for a week and i happened to check on that week there is no way this wasn't already an issue for her before MMH.

i thought they didnt change anything in the game with his release anyways, so why do you think that's what caused it

You know what? nuttyAFA is right. I think it's been rollable for awhile but we never caught it. I just watched a couple of RunwayMafia vids from 07/06 vs somebody's Lobo/Scorpion in the video thread. It wasn't a combo, but a divekick connected, and Lobo rolled away. Mostly people are trying to wakeup attack out of it or just sit an block or backdash on wakeup. Probably thought it wasn't still rollable.

I also was frustrated with opponents tech rolling a long time ago and that's why I used to sacrifice damage for ending stuff with air D3. Otherwise, I would've been doing D1~trait 23 or ending it with an MC. Air D3 ain't shit without the HKND. I based too much of my shit around 3~WE/3~MC.

I've been working vigorously to adapt hard knockdown to be a major part of my game due to 3~WE tech thereby sacrificing a little damage for busting wakeups and keeping the pressure on. I totally second tiger with the whole sweep/divekick thing. HAWKGIRL NEEDS HKD OFF OF HEAVENLY STOMP! Why dafuq even nerf that? That makes no sense at all whatsoever... :mad::mad::mad: I mean of all the things to nerf, of all the moves that are so broken..... ok, rant done.

i agree that it makes no sense. if they are not gonna give her a mb version that allows for combos OR makes it safe at least, unlike black adam, then it needs to be hard knockdown. i mean look at the impact when she hits them, if ever there was a move that should not be rolled from lol

It's because of how HG fucks over Superman. That's gotta be it. I now FIRMLY believe that NRS isn't gonna fucking TOUCH Superman. They're not gonna fucking touch him. They want that motherfucker to be the undisputed best and have no bad matchups.

That's the REAL reason they nerfed BA's divekick. They made it -15 from what it was no matter where it hits. Why -15? Why not -7? I'll tell you why. So Superman could punish it with F23 that's why.

Wow...im so confused...Boodendorf is a smart player...surely he would have tested this HKD...i dunno...im convinced somewhere down the line it was originally a HKD...

It WAS an HKD. I tested it myself a long time ago. Divekick, sweep, the retarded B13, and that worthless WE1 are the only moves that you couldn't roll out of.

Oh and lookie here! WE1 still does a hardknockdown. Isn't that awesome?! Now all I gotta do is find a way to hit somebody with it. That shouldn't be hard right?! :mad: :mad: :mad:

Its funny. I just had casuals a week ago and not one of my opponents techrolled out of a divekick combo finisher/divekick hit. Based on the info listed above, I guess no one knew about it so none of my opponents attempted a roll out?
 
maybe when they changed her MC in that early patch they messed with something? i dunno. could be one of those things where a patch changed it back to some state the game was in pre-release and nobody caught it?

Ok...so I was under the impression that D3 (heavenly stomp) was a hard knock down...? Someone posted a comment on my youtube mentioning that it wasn't...and sure enough I just tested it throughout a variety of combos with the computer set to roll...and they rolled....confusion.
Set the computer to roll and do jd3 against a JUGGLED oppnent, they won't roll.

I confirmed that myself right before the scorp release if i'm not mistaken, i didn't try out again.
I belive this is an unintentional nerf.

We2 123 j2 jd3

We2 b1 we3 b1 we3 b1 4 2d3

Those are the combos I used to see that jd3 was a hkd move and I had the cpu set to roll the whole time, which they didn't do.
I think that was done pre-scorp/pre-zod patch.

Btw divekick on airborne non juggled or grounded opponent was rollable all the time.
