Terrible times breed terrible things, my lord.
Kano has no overhead. Online aint perfect but its only a week or two. At least their aren't as many teleport characters as MK9. I miss the Klassic music from Dan Forden and the Pit III:(
 
I'm familiar with the Erron, Sub, and Kung Jin salt, but I don't remember seeing people complain about Cassie much. What exactly were people complaining about pertaining to her?

Remember when we used to get mad when Batgirl was safe when you blocked her one chance vortex? What if I told you there's a character in mkx that just wrecked the whole Northwest with over 7 different vortex looks? I personally think we will figure it out sooner or later, but nothing is more embarrassing than being locked in a blender for a whole life bar lol.

The difference between Batgirl and Quan is that Quan is punishable. EX rune into B2 can be backdashed, bat can be armoured through, he doesn't have control from everywhere on the screen and his wakeup is shit.

Haven't seen much Cassie salt.

The Liu Kang salt train was started yesterday with a hilarious thread.

And yeah I think Full-Auto Jacqui is a lock for week 3, her and her salt shooting machine gun that you can just duck but people don't for some reason.

Scorpion shouldn't even count because he'll forever be teleporting in, out , and around the top of the salt charts.
 
For me its grandmaster subzero. Definitely. It's not even how good he so much as his very playstyle

Full screen ice clone. Freeze, freeze. Full screen ice clone. End strings with ice clone. Even when I beat him it's not...fun.

I didn't see the salt about Sub-Zero and Cassie because some moronic freshie in my neighbourhood doesn't understand how to write his full address and my internet got messed up because of it. I've definitely noticed the QQing over Kung Jin though.

By the time I'm able to get my PS4 online at this rate, I'll be reading about one of the DLC characters "breaking the rules of the game" in this thread.

people are going to bitch about every character soon. Right now people aren't realizing that like every single character has bull shit.

"Erron Black is broken please nerf! Cassie is broken please nerf! Sub Zero is broken please nerf! Scorpion is broken please nerf! Kung Jin is broken please nerf!" Quan Chi wins major.

It really would be great if Kung Jin's jump ins in bojutsu didn't stuff like every single thing that was intended to be an anti air. That instant jf2 that hits front is pretty ridiculous too.

As soon as people figure out that wakeups aren't th same as MK9 an you need to know when to tech roll, when to delay, when to backdash, and when to use your armored wakeup, it will be better... But I cannot understand hwy there are so many gigantic advantaged restands. My salt isn't chracter specific, it's that the meta is bad across the board.

The Cassie complaining was so great though... OMG missile setups are broken! ... press down. The end.

Not sure if this has been discussed before but in KOTH, is there no way of exiting without quitting and getting a loss when youre king? (disconnect even?)

Ive had quite a few losses after being left alone with a begginner and Ive had to quit as its no fun playing someone at a completely different skill level.

Or for another instance, if you go on a massive win streak and get bored I think it's unfair that when you want to give up your king spot you have to take a loss. I know its only the one loss each time but that shit builds up.

The real reason that some games have it and this one doesn't is due to the developers priorities. Remember that KI and Skullgirls both had lead designers who were tournament players. Kiets/Mike Z. For this reason the games were made from the ground up with tournament play as the priority. Notice how few extraneous modes those games have, sure it's partially due to their small teams, but it's also due to the fact that their their priority is a game that can be played online and offline at a high level
Keits was handed KI, he had NOTHING to do with the game's development. He was not involved (or IG at all) until after season 1 was complete.

Ermac - Mystic Variation did not need a nerf. He literally has only one high level play variation now - put it back the way it was ED

Actually, for someone who started with Kotal and is learning KJ, I can say out of experience that run cancels are definitely a very intimidating concept for most people, especially people like me who are new to competitive MK. As a KI/GG/BB player, slight DOA, and former Alpha 3 guy, run cancels are a new thing in fighters for me so...something that is new is always intimidating, especially when you can't even grasp what that's supposed to look like... However...
PPl hold F+Block when they start running, that is why they think is dificult.

once you do FF+Block the character will start running on his own even if you drop your controller afterwards, it will only stop when he runs out of stamina.

Basically if you want to run cancel, or perform run combos, you only need to worry about the input for running, not about maintain it because the animation related to this macro is independent.
This is the most helpful advice in learning this concept though. Negative attention is great for getting noticed, but not once in your post OP did you actually share an easy way to do this.

People learn different things in different ways and different rates. Embrace rather than exclude. Run cancels are hard to you, but i'm sure if you never played GG you would want to kill yourself learning the roman cancel system and how you can roman cancel anything, but certain moves will only do it correctly, and the frames of follow are notated by color, and if you do it during wrong moves, you waste meter for no advantage and so on and so on and so on...

I got used to the run mechanic within a few hours. Liu Kang literally needs it to be even remotely effective otherwise you are just a sitting duck with little to no pressure.

Registering for TYM doesn't automatically make someone a competitive player, nor hold them to that standard. Contrary to popular belief, a lot of casual gamers visit this site. If they want to enjoy the game without using run cancels, that's their prerogative, and I'm going to assist them any way I can. Who are you to say "PLAY THIS WAY OR ELSE!" anyway? Did you buy their game? Do you pay their bills? If the answer to these questions is no, then it's none of your business.

I don't understand how to not be hostile in a world where ff+block counts as a skill wall.
It's pretty easy actually...ya kinda just don't be a dick about it. A lot of people playing MKX are new to fighting games. They aren't as adept as more experienced players and might want to adjust to learning easier characters first. So the whole "shut up you scrub," approach isn't really helpful to them. So how bout a more helpful thread next time.
