It's a dumb idea because if you ask if we can have a C tier fight, I'll say no. And then you have to either walk away, or hope you character is good enough to fight mine. And if we mandate this awesome idea, then people will stop showing up and participating. And then our scene dies. You can't dictate who I use, and I can't dictate who you use to ensure our tiers agree. If that happens, there is no way in hell this game would be played competitively, much less for 30k at MLG.

Pokemon is. So why cant this game? And again. I am not comparing the gameplay mechanics of this game to MK, just the bare idea of fairness in a tournament scene. And it works well with other games? Why wouldnt it work with this one. You learn to fight a tier or two, and you play in those tiers. Hell, you could play as many tiers as you like.

You didnt specify why people would stop showing up.

People would stop showing up because they could no longer use the character they wanted to use. MK is all about the badass characters, and their badass fatalities, no? Isn't that what dragged all of us into the series? Or did you join for training mode?

Dude, I don't give a fuck about Pokeman. I'm glad you like it, but I know very, VERY few people that I even remotely care about who play Pokeman. I'd much rather play... Well, anything more fast paced and interactive.

Making people play specific tiers is not the answer, unless someone asked you how to kill the scene as quickly as possible.

This would GIVE people the ability to chose who they want because there wont be fear of getting a huge ass thrashing from the fighters that are better than you, or giving you possible free/easier wins because someone is using a fighter much worse than you. How would people have to stop using the fighter they want? IF this came into play, I could only see the community getting stronger.

There would still be 6-4 in the tiers. And that's the problem with the kommunity, instead of leveling up or using a better character, now we have to only play comparable characters. There is even less hype in that, which serves to only weaken the kommunity and keep us from evolving our meta game.

The best matches to watch are the under dog matches. It would be awesome to watch a Scorpion come out of never and take and REO to his limits, similar to how xSMoKEx made a 3-7 MU look almost even.

Yes you are. Right now if your to choose CSZ, you biggest threat is still Kabal (not because of the MU). If you could only fight fighters of the same tier, his worst fight may be say Ermac.

That is because of specific Items and setups that game has for each indevidual. This game is not that eccentric.
