I'll see if I can add you guys, I need to clean up my friends list though.
Sounds Awesome, wish you the best. I won't be able to go due to schoolz, but if you ever need some practice I'm here to be a personal punching bag.So Winter Brawl, the next big east coast major, will take place on Feb 23. Anyone coming to this to play Tekken? I know DanCock will probably be there. I don't think Ninj plays Tekken, but he's cool. I'll definitely be there. I'm aiming to try and play 2 hours a week in the time leading up to the tournament. Not sure if that's an overly ambitious goal or not hahaha. I went 3-2 last time with almost zero practice in the month leading up to NEC, so hopefully with a few hours of training in I'll be better at certain matchups.
I'd honestly also really like to try and get better at MK9 before the event, but thats very unlikely. I've always mained Ermac, though I'm considering trying to main either Kano or Stryker. Kano is a real shitpile though... I think of all those choices, Ermac is probably the strongest, so I should just stick with him, especially since I at least have his fundamentals down.
Dancock, we gotta get some games in this time dude. MK2 and MK9, lets hit a hotel room or something. Sindel VS Ermac matches!
some wally carry /quote]
did you find him?!
i havent played this game lately, just got done with my finals, atm im learning NOTHING from online, looks like going to training mode is mandatory to learn other chars so i might as well do it in the dojo with the tekken vets there.
fuck, confused wally with waldoWhat do you mean by "did you find him?!" I have pretty much copied all my combos from watching top players or doing some experimenting on my own.
Doubt our connection would be good since you're in Europe and I'm in Hawaii. Also you're friends list is full.add me as well, bop_ ruby
does anyone know how to consistenly korean backdash? my version is a bit faster than dahsing back but not that much
have fun getting crushed by some team of Jacks or Pandas cuz you don't actually play peopleI found out today that I can do electrics straight out of a wavedash. Now all I have to do, is to think what I am gonna do with all the money I get for winning EVO 2013 kappa#
... I think I am gonna buy myself some fundamentals
Against Mishimas you need to hit them out of the wavedash before they reach hellsweep range. Sidewalking to your left makes most crouchdash moves whiff, even electrics (not always). Be prepared to block a homing move though (Kazuya ws3, DVJ/Bob fF4 or standing homing moves). As a general rule of thumb, just don't respect wavedashing too much. If you are knocked down and they wavedash at you, you can stay grounded and hit them with a mid wake up kick as they come inside range or alternatively you can tech roll or just eat the otg hit and then get up. Wake-up kicks are a bad idea against Heihachi though, his jumping kicks hurt like hell on counter hit. Quick getups will give the Mishima player a free 50/50 (range dependent) as you get up if they are already in range to either hit you with a mid or a hellsweep. Kazuyas wavedash oki can be as dangerous as Scorpions vortex if you do a quick get up because his hellsweep trips after the first hit while fF3 is a safe mid launcher. Bob's hellsweep also sets you up for another and getting knocked down again.Any good tips for punishing wave dashes(or just keeping them in check)? According to Aris a lot of Non-Mishima wave dashing is not very strong in TTT2 and I don't want to get caught off guard by not knowing how to respond.
Private hotel room time ? lol haha yea we need to. Now that I know button mapping is allowed I'm entering tekkenSo Winter Brawl, the next big east coast major, will take place on Feb 23. There isn't really much you CAN do about wavedashing. You basically can either block (and hope you block right... if you block a low or duck an electric, you can launch punish) or poke (throw out a fast mid and hit them before they do anything).Any good tips for punishing wave dashes(or just keeping them in check)? Hell yeah man. I've really been itching to play MK9 again and work on my Ermac. If the online wasn't garbage I'd try and take the game seriously.Private hotel room time ? lol haha yea we need to. Now that I know button mapping is allowed I'm entering tekken
About throwing out a fast mid, are special mids usually the most reliable? Special mids confuse me...There isn't really much you CAN do about wavedashing. IMO it doesn't matter if it is a special mid (can be blocked both standing and crouching), what matters is their execution speed. All character have a staple mid between 12-14 frames of execution; mids are never faster than that.About throwing out a fast mid, are special mids usually the most reliable? So find my fastest with hopefully the longest range and throw that out?IMO it doesn't matter if it is a special mid (can be blocked both standing and crouching), what matters is their execution speed. A poke that is fast, ranged, and safe on block. So find my fastest with hopefully the longest range and throw that out?
Sidestepping doesn't work right since it autocorrects everytime you move forward?A poke that is fast, ranged, and safe on block.
Wavedashing is basically an intimidation and mix up tool. For the most part the wavedasher has nothing to lose because they can use all kind of attacks (high, mid, low) and can start a combo. It is also like a duel: the first to act wins.
