@SaltShaker @Eddy Wang you have all told me how good Nina is yet you guys put her in B?
Also you said Law is super broken but is struggling to make S tier? Does that mean S tier characters are super super super broken?
Nah Nina is usually really good, but in this game she's a little toned down and just regular good. Around the "middle of the pack" in this version of the game. Not really in need of buffs or nerfs, maybe a little bit more mid screen damage. But then again she has the best wall carry in the game so it's a slippery slope.

Eddy was saying Law is broke. I think he's pretty dumb. Even dumber because he is easy to play and execute outside of 1 thing and received buffs. Though I don't think he's broke, just stupid if that makes sense. He isn't as strong as Leo in this version of the game, but he is very, very strong, Top 8 on a bad day. The thing is in Tekken so many characters are good, and very few characters are bad, so the balance lines are close.

The distance between an S-tier Ling and a B Tier Lars is much, much, much smaller than the distance between BS Shinnok and Outlaw Erron.

I know what you mean yeah, and it's better that way where everyone is strong enough to compete.
Obviously some will be stronger than others but they all have their quirks. I see Leo is top tier on every tier list but I honestly never seen him represented in any finals at all, is he just not popular?

Leo has some representation but it's one of those things where she just hasn't eclipsed yet, but she's always "around" so to say. Tekken is one of those games where certain people have their characters that they aren't gonna break away from too. You see Leo on every list because she has all the tools without a weakness. Amazing block pressure, great lows, great mids, great stances, great oki, great range, great speed, great wall carry, redunkulous wall game, no hair down customs.

Even in all the Leo glory the character still isn't "broken" so to say, so it speaks to the volume of the balance of the game. But Leo is about as close to busted as you can go without breaking lol.

I heard from Aris' commentary that Marshall's 4,3,4 no longer jails in one of the T7 builds. Is that not a big deal?

Feng has decent crush and evasive moves and he has access to some parries, feints and gimmicks. Jack's crush moves are garbage, he has no parries or good gimmicks but he has good throws and overall hits harder. Jack's wall game is exceptionally stupid as well were as Feng is just ok in this department.
Whoa, really? When I saw Saint at KotIF 2016, I saw him avoiding the walls at all costs in his sets against AK and Chanel (though I can certainly understand the fear of being put against the wall VS the legendary Phoenix). That made me think that Jack also had a comparably bad wall game like Feng Wei.

This dream has a sad ending
@SaltShaker Nina in terms of her frame traps neutral and other stuff got immensely buffed. Her main issue as of right now is her damage output if she did more damage like her ttt2 counterpart she'd be s-tier hands down. There's little to no point for learning ws1 loops anymore in 7 simply because of how the system works and most her damage comes from walls anyways

the first hit launches on counter hit, so the other parts of the string will hit entirely
True, but I was referring to its properties on block. They apparently took away and gave back the jailing properties several times throughout the builds, so I figured it would be a big deal for him.

His new 3+4 extension looks amazing and I like his new DSS+4. Are there any other cool changes Marshall got?

I also honestly thought the general system changes would spite him. Every character getting universal armor tones down his DSS pressure somewhat, no? Not to mention that his armored attack seems like nothing special when compared to Paul who has a + on block armored move or Lili who gets a launching armored move. His rage drive looks pretty mediocre to me as well with most characters getting + on block, really applicable rage arts, Marshall's stuck with his being tied to his Dragon Tail.

Power crush are great but they're kinda dangerous as well, since they mostly hit high and can be clipped with a few damage before being avoided for a full launch on whiff post use. Reason why you don't see it a lot unless is hwoarang who has a homing power crush, ppl are always trying to sidestep punish him.

Oh no, Jack is very much a menace at the wall. The most annoying thing he can do is the full crouch version of db1. It deals more dmg than the standing version, it's +5 on hit so he gets to do another one on hit without you being able to sidestep or low crush yourself out of it. It's -9 on block so you must low parry it if you want to actually punish him for it, if you attempt to low parry it however, you open yourself up to his while standing attacks. Ws4 and ws2,1 can not be fuzzied (quick low parry attempt then stand block). Ws1 however is fuzzyable but this still isn't easy to do. Jack also has access to some cheesy full crouch strings that you must know how to defend against properly.

And it's not like he doesn't have other options. He can backdash away from you a couple of times to make you think you can move and then just come in with fF4 to catch you moving with a 40 dmg wallsplat. He can use fF3 on your wake-up to make sure you are not ducking and still maintain his momentum. His command throws have break animations that don't switch sides, you are just left in his face with your back still against the wall. The 1+2 throw is absolute death if you don't break it, then do the just frame block on the punch follow-up.

Lol

For the record, we in Angola call him Eddy "N'gulo" and not "Gordo", Gordo means fat

N'gulo its a native word for "pig", we call him this way because we know he is dirty, so its fitting. :D
This is just an aside, but is Eddy's first name ever spelled or taken differently in different communities?

I see people use "Eddie" Gordo quite often but the in-game spells his name quite obviously.

Pterodactyl

Plus on block.
Fuck.

My ass is already pained and I don't even have the game yet. There was no way that spinning bastard wasn't going to make his way back in but I still had hope...

Those stages, those stages are AWESOME.

This game might just have the best stages of any Tekken yet.

That said I don't think anything will beat this stage for me

Some of the most intense feeling battles in any fighting game for me were had there, everything about it was perfect, especially that music.

The Tool Pusher from TTT2 is right underneath this stage

Ooh, thanks. Was Saint just playing against opponents with scarier wall games than Jack then?
