Can a character be op and not win anything? Or top tier? I mean I've noticed this trend of calling certain characters too strong,dumb,easy wins,etc, but I've also noticed that these characters didn't really win much if ANYTHING. S2 wasn't Laura "too strong" and I don't think she won anything aside from wolfkrone (I think) winning the first s2 tournament. Balrog was supposedly cheap as hell yet did he win anything? How about chun? Abi? Now it's cammy, what has she won? I'm not sure if we could consider any character in SFV too strong until we actually see results because even the best players in the world can't win tournaments with them. Change my mind.

I think when it comes to tier lists it comes down to a characters tools and what said character is capable of. This opinion can change over time which makes teir lists just an opinion. As they are based on what a character can do on paper compared to what a player can do in a tournament it is not as important as we think. In most games we have players who have played characters for multiple games and know their characters very wrll and in a tournament setting this is what counts.

Cool. Yea I've always thought that tier lists only say so much but it's the player primarily responsible for results. I do know however that there are characters that make it easier to win with sometimes. Hey you still play Ken?

I was under the impression she hasn't won anything aside from maybe some nlbc type of stuff or online tourneys. Everyone has a cammy pocket but they have ultimately went back to their main once they were about going to be eliminated.

Yah it seemed to coincide pretty conveniently with her getting buffs when every character who could handle her bullshit got nerfed though, also just saying lol.

I understand what you're saying but what I've seen is top, top players who picked her up like Du,Punk etc. are actually 'losing' with her and going back to their main characters. Guys who mained her since the beginning like kazunoko, xiaohai, kbrad,etc. actually got better results before cammy became what a lot of people believe is to be op. All this makes me think that might be not true, same for the rest of the supposedly OP characters this game has had.

I agree cammy,akuma, guile are definitely top tier, I play akuma a little but at my level I think I can't take advantage of it, something about his red fireball into vtrigger? I don't know I suck lol.

Idk I’m watching her all over Dreamhack just like every other top 8 and of course she’s landing more throws than any Gief/Abigail ever did lol.
