whenever i fight jax i never want to give him the opportunity to do an ex dash punch, if you do a flamethrower don't be too aggressive after it because theyre just waiting for an opportunity to go through a projectile you throw.

If it's distance and spacing you want cant you end a combo with B1 instead to knock them full screen? a dash punch will miss you from that range.

yeah i mention the 11b1 or b1 ender in my stickied combo thread. accordingly you can also choose which side you want to be on mid combo by adding in a TU or if you dont want to change sides just end with b21, f4~upmissle, 21~flame or b1 for more zoning. Sektor has great combo finishers. Its not all about damage or ending in flamethrower as some will preach. I personally like ending with upmissle and/or getting a knockdown or pushing them back with the b1.

Fun fact: Ending telepunches with 2 1 flamethrower leaves your opponent standing much further away than if you'd ended it with B2 flamethrower, for a difference of one or two percent. 1 2 flamethrower gives you the exact same result, though I find 2 1 flamethrower easier to time. There is no reason not to use this over B1 every time, especially since B1 is disadvantage on hit when used as an anti-air. I'm about 90% sure Smoke's wakeup telepunch could punish this every single time, just to name one example. Pretty much any teleport wakeup that comes out while you're still in recovery frames should be able to stop this. Of course, I haven't tested it thoroughly because there's never any point to using B1 as a combo ender, so feel free to test this one out for yourself.

Also, there's absolutely no defending two EX telepunches in one combo. Just sayin'.

B1 works just fine in all situations unless jumped over at the exact time as the startup and is then punished with a crossover punch.

This is a constructive thread for sektor users to discuss tactics and tech. I'm aware the cyber sub zero thread is always littered in bickering but this is not the place for that and nobody is interested.

EDIT: and im sure nobody would defend using two ex teleport punches as it's obviously a stupid idea, i only ever do it by accident which is rare.

b1 as an anti-air isn't punishable by any attack. Whats the point of ending b1 as a combo ender? to get a far knockdown baiting a wake up. Preferably a teleport. In smokes case the b1 is useful if the smoke player thinks he can punish b1 on hit with the teleport then sektor blocks the telepunch and gets a combo. If they dont decide to wake up you can counterzone their projectile/teleport with an iTU or start your missle barrage if they are going to turtle.

sorry to get off topic but two things:

does anyone know the the frames on a blocked 2,1,4? It actually seems to be PLUS on block.. maybe like +1

likewise, a blocked f+4,3 leaves you at about 0 so since sektor has a 6 frame jab you can either d+1 for a frame trap, b+3,4 or 1,2,b+1 for the full juggle. There's many more options you can do but these are just some to consider. However if your opponent has a fast punish like kung spin, its just best to block in this case.
HOWEVER, if someone crouch blocks the f+4, the 3 will make sektor go to the other side.. but it seems like both you and your opponent recover at about the same time so you're safe.

EDIT: another thing.. imo Sektor's X-ray is pretty underrated, it has some neat uses for different matchups which I'll explain later

Yeah, you'd just hate for that to happen, wouldn't you? Considering how often you paraded around and gloated about it the last time you got a mod to lecture me (oooh, this is an accomplishment), I'll bet you've PMed every mod on the site by now, twice.

Also, I find it funny how you're just now saying you threw in the two EX telepunches in one combo for shits and giggles, because last time I addressed it, you justified by saying it "sets up for zoning". You also told me that none of your tech could've been ripped from TYM because you "didn't go to TYM", when I later found out you'd been here for months. I guess integrity just isn't your strongpoint.

- I never said it was an accomplishment. You brought it upon yourself.
- I didn't PM any mod. In fact, I got a PM from another user who feels the same way I feel about you.
- Two EX TUs does set up for zoning, and you can't deny that. I've told you countless times that it's just a possibility for a combo.
- I joined TYM after I said that. How about you read timestamps next time?
- Like I said, I thanked Ketchup. I didn't "whine". You get salty at the tiniest things.
- If you got moderated, then it's your fault.

ex flamethrower is kinda useless imo... It should either have armor on startup frames, be safer on block, or slightly increased range

Not sure if anyone's mentioned this, but post patch sektor's xray can (still?) be snuffed out at full screen projectile trade.

im pretty sure exflamethrower is more unsafe on block and whiff then the regular flamethrower. I find that it can be one of the most useless ex moves in the game.

Just came in here to say that I've started using Sektor and am having a great time using him. Probably will replace Mileena/CSZ as my alt because Sektor just looks too bad-ass and is fun to play.

yeah theres always great sektor tech being found by our community. He is a very rewarding character with medium risk. A very good alternative to reptile. I sub reptile and have been having good success with playing both of them to contrast their playe styles. Similar pressure zoning with the exsfb/homing missles. A great medium range 'checking' tool (flamthrower/elbowdash). Sektor is faster then reptile when it comes to normal and can punish almost anything in the game with his 12b1 launcher. Pm me or any of these guys i mentioned in the first post (cratehn too, i didnt forget you buddy!) if you have any specific questions for sektor. Or you can always post here. Dont be afraid to ask dumb questions either, we dont judge.

yeah sektors ex flame is more punishable than the regular one, easily never worth using :')

2. Who are his worst matchups?

I usually pressure with 12 or 21. 12 can lead into 122 if opponent is ducking. 21 can lead into a Teleport Uppercut and to his highest damaging combos (2,1,tu,b2,1,b3,4,extu,b2,flame). You can also do 214. Since there is a pause before the 4, sometimes the opponent will let go of block but I don't really use 214 much. 124 is almost the same thing and it got fixed in the patch. You can also use 11 but you can't do teleport combos off of it.

There is a matchups thread stickied at the top.

Oh I didn't know it did the same damage. I always thought b2,1,b3,4 added more damage. Then I guess JK would be better after 2,1,tu.

About that 1,2,B1,F4,4,TU,JK,EXTU,B2,1 combo...:D

My go-to combo is 12b1, f44, TU, B34, EXTU, B2 and end with whatever is appropriate (1, torch, upmissile). I don't remember, but doesn't this combo do the same amount of damage as those 2?

How do you feel about block dashing guys? How does it affect the :en Up Missile setup for the 50/50 or throw?

I think now that everyone is forced to do it, Sektor lost part of his edge, because block dashing helps the whole roster move faster.
