Match-up Discussion RiBBz22's Killer Frost Matchup Chart [Updated: 10/10/13]

One thing I did hear through the grapevine is that MB interactables are going to cost 2 bars in the next patch. If that is true I think that would help a bit if we had to absorb them to get a punish.

I'd rather see the ability to MB Interactables go away completely. Or at least give the Pulse Blast Drones tracking on the shot.

KF beats DS.

Agreed, 6-4 KF at worse.

idk I've always felt that gl wins the mu 6-4.
Just my personal opinion.
If kf gets in she can win but other than that I feel like gl can keep her out the whole fight.

As bad as Killer Frost is, she doesn't get zoned out by Green Lantern and he can't runaway from her because she can punish turbine

Its a life lead based match. If GL gets the life lead, he control the entire pace of the battle. If KF gets the life lead, she controls the entire pace. She also wins upclose IMO.

I always thought KF wins the GL MU. Parry is a big deal. f+3 and b+1,3 are punishable against her. He can blow up parry but it's by doing stuff like b+1 by itself she can punish as well. Consider the resets and it's all guessing games in her favor. I could be wrong and it's 5-5 now but that was my experience when I played her.

Yeah I think GL is a solid 5-5. KF can slide the gap between b13 rocket or dash it for a full combo. She parries the gap of his best footsie tool b1 between b12 or b13. GL can't zone KF unless she is forced to come to him. GL has a lot of good options at mid-range to get damage...and really when it comes down to it they both don't really limit each other too terribly much so I think because of that it should be considered even.

I've only played one kf in tourney
so not a lot of exp vs her besides playing vs mit kf because he knows so many chars.

No problem buddy. I think regardless what number we put on it the MU is pretty fair. Both characters have their dirty crap, but each character is able to do things to get around it. KF has to be on point with her parry to stifle GL's pressure so he can't get whatever he wants when he is in close and GL has to work to keep KF out inside of full screen. Oa rocket is hella good in the MU, but if you screw one up momentum can switch pretty quick.

yes gl def has to be careful doing high oa rockets because that slide. I usually try and do them low and at an angle she can slide on it.
Cant use standing rockets because of slide.
Cant do my b13 rocket gimmick
Have to be carful because she can parry his best strings.
I feel like there are a lot of mindgames in this mu because they both have to be patient and make solid reads.

Yeah dude, 1 losing matchup 8 even matchups and 20 winning matchups definitely seems like top tier haha. And she was actually even way better before with way dirtier setups, she got alot of nerfs in that one patch. Before the patch she probably has 0 losing matchups and less even matchups

The "nerfs" did nothing man. The only true dirty thing she lost was her 1114 setup. Other than that, she's still the same character.

Preeeeetty sure Pig felt she was top tier or close to it. With 111,4 alone, I can't say I'd disagree with him. The damage I used to to get over one wrong guess was almost the level of Supes in the corner, but I never really looked into/ got attention for it much, because most people just complained about her slide. Not her damage, vortex, safety , low hit box or trait cancels. Glad NRS didn't take the bait.

Why are you justifying the nerfs, 111 is a string starting in a high and she has nothing that jails into blocking high so the only way she would hit the entire string without it being interrupted would be if your oppenant was so negative that the 1 could whiff and the next hit would still hit them which is there fault or they were blocking high for the overhead which again is just there bad read.

Considering after the damage nerf she only gets around 37% vortex setups and no one was doing these combos before the patch there was no way she was getting superman corner damage even after that was normalised.

I think she can be in the convo for top 5. She is definitely top 10. There are a ton of good characters in this game though. It isn't MK9 and you know that.

111~4 was +15 and 11 is (H)M and 17f startup for the mid. Even though the first hit of 111 is high and can be ducked, if timed properly 111~4 was a block infinite with no escape outside of 1f parries, supers, and 1f armor moves like Bane with trait or Grundy WC.

This string before the nerfs kept a Doomsday with active trait in check it was so broken. Am I sad to see it go? for sure, but it was a necessary nerf. I think they nerfed it too hard with 10 more frames, but it's too late now.

I don't like the damage nerf at all... sure the main BnB combos are only a few % less, but her trait combos are 10-15% less which pisses me off as those are extremely rare to be able to use in a real match with clash still available.

God I wanna say she's top 5, but her air control man. Interactables aren't her friend either. People like Batman, Supes, Black Adam and WW have 0-1 bad MUs, just like frost, but they have good air control and are really good when it comes to interactive environments, unlike frost.

If only she was a power character lol
