NRS Email Leak? Alleged New MK11 Details/Cover Art/Community Reveal Plans

AZ MotherBrain

If you believe enough, -7 could be +7
I feel like that box art is a concept art for the final box.

As for Ronda, wouldn’t doubt it, but don’t really like it

Maybe NRS deliberately leaked this themselves to:
- gauge reception of box art and new character names.
- prepare fans for big changes in the game (even Rousey lol).
- build hype around new characters.

All too easy...
I heard that krushing blows are the new xray attacks. So you have a normal super you can use for all bars any time, but nrs didnt want you to break someones neck or face and have them keep fighting after so krushing blows only trigger if it will kill, essentially making them super brutalities with the xray effects

I also would not be surprised if Nrs leaked this on purpose. They know leaks will happen either way so maybe them doing this sort of selective leaking is a way for them to build hype before reveals and semi make up for the late announcement of the game compared to when they normally announce idk

How many characters did they have for the MKX reveal? Around E3 they were doing demos of it. I think it was like 4 with one new character (D'Vorah I believe).

Anyway it could give us some insight as to how many characters will be on that character select screen. I think if they are announcing Sonya they would want at least 4 characters to demo with. I'm thinking it will be:

Scorpion
Raiden
Sonya
a new charioteer

Also probably won't be a good idea to try and count because they always change the slot count as they announce more people

The MKX reveal was 10 months before launch, though. This is only 4 months before launch, and the game is much more complete.

Armor damage is definitely back, I wonder if krushing blow has something to do with that.

I don't know how I feel about armor damage. NRS will have to be careful about that. Even though this game is rated M they're probably gonna wanna dodge the partial nudity rating and keep things tasteful, which I imagine they will given the new climate and the reforms they made from MK9.

I just don't suddenly want a half nekkid Sub-Zero because I kept getting lethal hit like in SC6. It's just awkward.

I don't mind some scratches, dirt and bruises here and there when it comes to battle damage. But I think MK9 was too much. I'm not squeamish at all, I just didn't think it looked cool. The characters looked absolutely ridiculous in a bad way at the end of the fights, imo.

I also find the way battle damage works in the SoulCalibur series to be stupid, with pieces of clothes and armour exploding off your body and then disappearing into the aether, and in the end you're almost butt-naked. It's especially annoying when I've put time into creating a character to have a certain look, and then after a few blows they just lose the armour for the rest of the fight.

But as said, a bit of battle damage is alright, as long it doesn't completely fuck up the characters.

Somehow
Speaking of MKX, at E3 they showed 6 characters. In mid-January 11 out of 25 were announced. And at the end of the month Reptile and Ermac were announced. This is more than half of the main roster.

I hope there will be at least 8 characters, which also will be available in the beta version.

Character count of all NetherRealm games at E3:

Mortal Kombat 9:
  1. Scorpion
  2. Sub-Zero
  3. Kung Lao
  4. Johnny Cage
  5. Nightwolf
  6. Mileena
  7. Reptile
  8. Sektor
Injustice Gods Among Us:
  1. Batman
  2. Superman
  3. Wonder Woman
  4. The Flash
  5. Solomon Grundy
  6. Harley Quinn
Mortal Kombat X:
  1. Scorpion
  2. Sub-Zero
  3. D'Vorah
  4. Ferra/Torr
  5. Kotal Kahn
  6. Cassie Cage
Injustice 2:
  1. Batman
  2. Superman
  3. Supergirl
  4. Aquaman
  5. Gorilla Grodd
  6. Atrocitus
Keep in-mind that all of these games were being shown off in June but weren't coming out until April, or May in Injustice 2's case. So when they were showing these games they wouldn't be out until almost a year.

With Mortal Kombat 11 coming out much sooner when they are showing it off, I think there is a pretty good chance we could get twice as many characters shown off than usual (so around 12). If not, then we will be getting like 1-2 character reveals every week leading up to the game, which would be pretty cool too.

Yeah man, Can't wait!!! I think this wait for January 17th is being harder for me than the wait for April 23rd will be after that. We're still a month away, all we have are the leaks, there's so little to analyze.

MKX did it well. You could see they had scratches/burn marks/blood etc over them, but not chunks of their face missing or their shirt completely ripped off like MK9, or SC. They probably could take it a little further, but definitely shouldn't go back to MK9 levels.

This sounds promising. Not sure how that fits in with Scorpion stomping his spear through Raiden face in the trailer though. Clearly looked like an x-ray of old, but doesn't quite mesh with the explanation above.

Otherwise i like the idea. Maybe the same input = super if lifebar >25%. If less then it turns into a Krushing Blow that knocks them out which can lead to a Brutality? Fatality? Something new?

MK9 had Cyrax at E3, not Sektor

It's typical, though, for VAs to be hired for multiple games in the same series for continuity. Capcom tends to keep theirs when possible, for instance.

But NRS has shaken things up before. Lani Minella was pretty upset she wasn't asked back to be Sindel again in MKX. (But I figure they didn't want to pay her for an NPC, and Kelly Hu was already on-set to voice D'Vorah.)
They both did a great Sindel. Kelly Hu definitely got her coins too because she did like 3 or 4 voices for MKX

narr. The world is to big to waste time paying attention to stuff you do not like. There is a common perception problem people have when they think as they are interesting in something, everyone is. I'm going to do a test and ask everyone I meet who she is I bet not a single person would have heard of her.
Where do you live...?

Krushing Blows make perfect sense if you watch the trailer. Scrop and Raiden both do jumping superman punches w/ special effects...That is most likely the krushing blows.
Oh, it absolutely makes sense. I was just asking who he had allegedly heard details about them from.

Re: rousey
Just a quick reminder that from a community standpoint, NRS has gone hand in hand with WWE since before Injustice 1. Not a lot of people from the fgc like it, but last year NRS made WWE Immortals and its done well in the mobile space. They've done god knows how many sponsored promos with Xander and co. Tyler and Derek play for a WWE style belt every single stream. A female wwe star voicing a major MK character is going to be huge.

Re: kronika
We have all heard the stories of fire and ice and meat and ketchup and mustard and kublai kahn and various other character name-shenanigans in NRS history, there's no guarantee "Kronika" is whats up in the life bar, even if this leak is 100% legit.

Case in point, you can still find the casting calls from back when Erron Black was still called "Salazar". I even have a poster of it on my wall that has his render listed as "Erron Black" and his concept art labeled "Salazar", same as Sub Zero and Scorpion and Ferra/Torr and Kano as if they're seperate characters.

Oh yeah, I remember that casting call. Pretty much every character ended up happening besides "Ron Tan Cho". Also RIP the MKX webseries.
