Lol. I'm beginning to think that you do have a legitimate mental issue. I've addressed this multiple times. Including here:

I have been saying TYM lost its appeal for whatever reason to the majority of the players. With twitter and discord people socialize else where. I remember when it was required that you come to this site to keep up with new tech and news. I was reluctant to pay for the TYM upgrades/contribute...

This notion that TYM has thousands of dollars laying around to sponsor people is entirely false. The subscriptions and ad revenue barely covers the server expenses, and Storms has come out of his pockets on more occasions than I can count to keep the servers up and the site online.

TYM is not a business. It's a labor of love. I haven't seen a cent from it, and I don't own it -- @STORMS does. Direct your financial concerns to Storms, and he'll explain to you that it's costly to maintain and upgrade a site that can handle the kind of peak surges TYM gets.

Furthermore, multiple people in this thread have already informed you what everyone already knows -- that players from every competitive game do not frequent forums for their game. We are living in a new era, and you are still living in 2007. It's time to wake up.

In the event that Storms magically had tons of extra money, and gave it out to people, they would still do exactly what they are doing now -- bash TYM everywhere, then show up briefly when it's in their interest to promote something or get something for themselves, and then go straight back to Twitter. No one had a problem with promoting Discords here like crazy.

Well, sonic fox is an NRS player and I like to see what he posts about the game. But, contrary to what you say, I have to sometimes get gay porn/beastiality on my timeline including some extremely graphic stuff. I can't stand seeing all the likes of people who post stuff about fights and other desensitized stuff. Every time someone says something meaningful to you it is ignored and you tangent about something else.

As the community engineer I hoped you would be more involved in the community and try to progress the sites perception instead of shamelessly shilling for NRS and sonic fox 24/7. As you have ignored these things in about 20 posts i'll try again:

• get big names and top players back to the site via sponsorships
• where is the tym epsorts team/competitive team?
• where is the tym tournament series
• why is the events calendar never up to date and proming things like mr aquamans tournament or destoryers
• where is the competitive focus on this site and articles reflecting the interest?
• where is the event hubs style news stories and interviews?

Im no community engineer but I thought this might be a good place to start to help the sites fleeting perception.

The ironic thing is that a few years back, he was obsessed with getting a seeding system up for our events. And because I was also really interested in setting something like that up, I offered to take it up with him. Behind the scenes I set up calls, and we started meeting on Skype with a bunch of top players in order to work out the details.

That effort largely failed because P2W started stonewalling on just showing up for an idea that was 50% his. Everyone else would show up, except him, and it became like pulling teeth to get him to contribute to something that would actually benefit the community. Eventually he started hiding out and ducking the meetings altogether. So we dropped it.

Now he shows back up a couple years later and makes demands of what other people are supposed to do -- but if you notice, he never suggests what he could contribute himself. The irony is amazing.

Also, do what a couple of us have done: start your own league and run your own tournaments. A bunch of us are relative unknowns and we started our own. We've got about 75 members and we're preparing to go live with it within the next month with our first open event. We've gotten in contact with Mr Aquaman, we've brought in some of the Babeality women, and already have a cash prize for the winner, so someone with P2W's clout and connections should be able to do the same.

Personally, I feel we need to be more understanding. It always feels like there’s nothing but tension around here. You can hear out someone’s viewpoints, opinions and arguments without being so abrasive or dismissive. For instance, it doesn’t matter how “right” you think you are, or how right you actually are. If you come across as an asshole, no one is going to take what you’re saying seriously or really take it into consideration. This is a lesson I’ve had to learn myself.

I always used to not care how I came across to people. All I cared about was getting MY arguments out there at any and all cost. Not really listening to any counterpoints, because I felt like what I was saying was completely not up for debate. The problem is people don’t respond well to that sort of approach. If you actually listen to opposing viewpoints, understand where they’re coming from, find common ground and all that, that’s when you reach true understanding.

As far as the state of TYM and the question (or statement) proposed in this thread, I feel it’s completely reasonable that NRS chooses not to acknowledge us. But at the same time, we don’t know if that’s actually a decision they made, or if they just forgot to mention us. If it indeed was a conscious decision, I would love to hear it from them. And if there’s a specific reason, maybe we can help change TYM for the better.

At the end of the day we are all humans who love Mortal Kombat, fighting games, and just video games in general. All this toxicity and arguing is counterproductive and leads to more of the same nonsense. Of course forums, or TYM, aren’t the only places that harbors such behavior. And we cannot do anything about people not valuing forums as much as they used to. And there may not even be a problem, necessarily, with TYM or forums. It could simply just be that the newer platforms are more desirable. I don’t hold it against anyone if they hate TYM and blame it on the staff. I would like to know specifically what their grievances are, but honestly, they don’t owe me or anyone anything.
