JDE

Pick up & kill it & kill it & kill it!
He's basically the MK9 noob with no portal setups \:
to be honest i was extremely disappointed that he has no setups in this game ... they made him a pure zoner which is fine by me but having no setups is just bad.
The truth we really don't know that. I actually see some setup potential, but we really won't know until we get the game. Even still, he is a zoning character & most of them don't have stuff like that unless they're in the corner. I actually like how he is opposed to Jade in terms of midscreen utility. We'll see, but right now to me, he looks sick.

His neutral game is a million times better than what it was in mk9 though.

Kombatant
I say that's a fair trade since he has crazy combo potential in neutral and in the corner.
My question comes down to utility, i.e. what purpose does Low Slide now have if they can both be crouch blocked. In MK9 the answer was clear, but for now we'll have to wait to see frame data an amplify properties.

His running man as a mid is probably better for his balance as a character. Did you see how it caught cetrion out of the air at 1:47? That move is nuts and will force certain characters to play noobs game already. Fast huge mid with actual neutral is much better than making it an overhead and then gimping him elsewhere.

It did catch Centrion out the air; however, we don't know if the hitbox for that move as an anti-air is that big or if Centrion has a large hitbox while in the air.

Hey guy! I’m still trying to find/get a feel for a character in mk11 but I’m thinking of giving noob a try, I played him in the older games and a bit in
Mk9

So is he technically a zoner here? Thoughts?

While there may be tools available within variations to make him a bit more moderate, his core toolset still looks to remain skewed toward a dedicated zoning character IMO.

Scorpion Scrub
I think of him more like MKX Kenshi, zoning capabilities but not the best zoner. I think he'll excel midrange where the low slide is the most threatening. along with his sweep and advancing low. His anti air shadow looks good to control this space as well. The second variation will probably have a few more close range options but sacrifice some space control (low shadow slide & air shadow divekick).

Here's to hoping.

Potentially, this is one of the tournament variations already. If so, it looks like an aggressive variation with Ghostball and some combo potential. If this stays, I think this will be my first one to try.

There's also a second one, but in that one only 2 out of 3 slots are used, so I'm not sure if it's a finished variation.

So ghostball is part of the rushdown variation and not the MK9 zoning one, god fucking dammit NRS

That missing slot on the first variation better get filled with ghostball in the day 1 patch and not the divekick klone. Dont need air dive kick and air teleport. Just make a damn MK9 Noob, its not hard

The ghostball is a great fit for a rushdown variation in this game imo. By draining stamina, it disables air escape for the opponent and allows to go for long combos they could roll out of otherwise. From what we know, I think it compliments a rushdown style very well.
