Let's say the game will be optionally a tag one, I'd go for:

Sub Zero/Frost as the Ice Team
Kitana/Fujin as the Wind Team
Scorpion/Blaze for Fire Team
Rain/Water God for Water Team
Raiden/Nightwolf for Lightning Team
Smoke/Bi Han for Shadow Team

Assuming some of them are returning. I hope we won't see the kids again. Some of them would be more setup on their own

I highly doubt we will see the dash-block mechanic return. It looks very awkward and it was never intended to be a thing in MK9. Personally, I didn't mind it at all, but I'd put money on never seeing it again. My thinking is that the run mechanic will return but it will be heavily toned down in some manner and not as prevalent in the next game.

If they are changing things up, breaking the 2 year cycle, perhaps he's taken a different approach? I wouldn't count them out till the credits roll at the end of the show. You're forgetting Boon's troll level isn't even measureable..
