It sucks she can't use fans for combo extensions but now she has way better strings for her normalized damage. Should be interesting to see. b34 being safe is definitely nice.

I’m playing with it now... it sucks fan throw combos are so hard now. Do we think they'll change it back? I’m really happy her strings are safer now but Kitana without fan throw combos just feels wrong.

I try my best to be a really positive poster 'round these parts, but man. I wrote this post a month ago...

16bit won't let us down, right? Right? We're not gonna reinvent the wheel, right? I have... just always loved the feeling of hitting someone with air fan and converting since time immemorial.... it was probably the first thing I did in a fighting game that felt "really cool". I would be most aggrieved if her fans were radically changed.
And then when the reveal came, my dreams and desires seemed perfectly intact! And I could ride that high all the way to release, only to get tripped quite literally right as it came time to actually get my hands on it. What a bad feeling. I really, really wish they didn't change their minds at the last second like that, that they'd just revealed her being this way from the start instead. It'd be so much less disappointing that way. I could have accepted it so easily if she were just different from the start like Scorpion and Sub-Zero and the rest. I'd just shrug and have let my interests fester elsewhere in the cast. Man.

Thanks for reading my blog, Kitana General. Hope some folks here are still enjoying her. Don't mean to be a downer.

Damn I forgot just how bad things were back in the day. Lowkey we were spoiled towards the end.

Well... yeah... Kitana with no combo fans isn´t Kitana. I think she will receive the "Kenshi treatment". I mean, Kenshi was an "A" character in MK9, he went to be low tier in MKX, Kitana was an "A" character at the end of MKX, I don´t know hwere she will end... And all of this happens because Ed decided to casualize the game.

Is it me or are low instant air fans like in mkx not possible
Please confirm, i´m very interested in this.

I hate saying this but... am I the only one who doesn't really like how Kitana plays in this game? I am so used to doing crazy combos and doing some zoning but not having a lot of tools otherwise (well I played assassin mainly). I just want the crazy combos back, it doesnt have to be crazy damage. Skarlet's 212 212 BF4 does around the same damage of most Kitana BnBs without KBs

Guys this may sound weird, but I think her sai variation may be her best option right now. I used it a lot today and the results are pretty good.

Sai cancels are legit. None are plus but a majority of them are safe. 12 sai cancel is nasty. It costs a bar but you gain it back quick. Mixing it up with throws or gutted is a nasty mind game.

Sai throw is better than you think, especially when you mix it up with fans. Very good on oki as well. The best setup I have so far is after a fan toss in combos. Her knockdowns don’t provide enough advantage to set up a sai throw safely up close.

Her Edenian razors are annoying to deal with. Safe at -6 but I found a way to make it even more safe..all the way up to +10. We all know you can hold it but if you hold it long enough during strings or oki, and let it go just as it’s about to hit, you would’ve already recovered just as they block it and the most I’ve gotten up to is +10, which jails into S1. Trying to figure out a way to utilize this more because +10 is a VERY big deal.

The damage is obviously weaker but it more than makes up for it with her staggers, cancels and pressure.
