Both, he needs meter for Combos and pressure. And Stamina for his combos and for footsies(especially for b1).
Good to know. Prior to that set I found myself think 'f21, that covers a lot of ground'. What I didn't realise is that the first hit doesn't travel far at all. It only moves him one character place forward (i.e. On recovery, his back foot now stands where his front foot was before start up) and the second can be interrupted by pokes. Running in helped close that gap and allowed me to hit confirm. I've also found the 2nd hit of 32 is good at interrupting strings, and 112 is useful with the run too (I've always struggled with the short range of 11 I tend to avoid it, favouring b13 instead. Of course, I haven't got that luxury with CT).

As a cutthroat player I swear by f4, db1. Try it man they never expect slice follow up after that knee and if you ex it's a guaranteed bnb combo. I've actually been consistently winning matches because of it

Yea I use it a lot to catch ppl eventually they start respecting the knife coming after so it gives me a chance to rc into some more pressure its not guaranteed of course but you can run up grab and then just constantly switch it up on them. Its definitely my get in tool

Yup and I'm pretty sure it's safe in block too. Or it isn't and they just have no fuckin idea how to counter that shit. Cutthroats damage may have gotten nerfed but his +frames are really damn good

Kano/Kotal is one of, if not my favorite MU to play in this game. I have tons of exp in this MU as its the co-main of my main training partner.

That MU is what this game should have been like.

Well yeah dude. Two of the fairest characters in the game of course it's gonna be the best matches ever. I love playing against a Kotal mu because I know it's not going to be an exploit filled bullshit match like 95% of the other characters

I've only play Blood God about 10x ever, but War/Sun God I've played too many to count. That match becomes nothing but technical footsies, great reads, pokes, punishes, etc. It becomes almost an entirely different game than say, "Lao vs Tanya" or "Predator vs Erron". If the game across the board played like that MU it would be so Godlike.

Kano v Kotal is what I want SFV to be like, as it is too late for MKX to become that now.

So i messed with it agaisnt diff characters and im pretty surprised haha. You can armor f4 blade slice. Cassie can flip kick if you do. Ex or not. F4 into ball theres a gap. Into upball is a block string. Into ex ball is a block string. Which is weird. And the kicker. You can reversal backdash and avoid everything save for f4 knife and ball. Even goro can back dash blade slice if you do f4 at max range. Ew. I though blade slice would catch but idk. Ai just avoids it.

That is weird you can backdash slice since it goes pretty far but not surprised about being able to armor it tho.
Luckily most ppl Dont know the match up enough to take advantage of that gap.

Thanks for checking that out its definitely good to know its risky if ppl know about it
 
Do you guys pick CT over cyber vs jacqui? I'm hit or miss in that mu and I don't know what to do
Ct compliments my playstyle but I think cyber is more effective

I also think commando is useful but a bit harder imo
Thoughts?

It's hard to say with the new buffs to Jacqui. Which variation?

I've got a ton of EXP against FA Jacqui and would use Cyber in the MU. It was just flat out better. Now with her buffs I'm not sure though.

Mostly Full Auto, I haven't seen enough of shotgun or high tech to know a damn thing about those variations

Personally I had a rough time with Commando. It's good on some MU's but against FA Jacqui it can get tough. Cutt seems like it won't be as good for the MU as pre-patch because now she has better options and can cancel her 50/50 on block. With all the meter and rushing her down you have to do that doesn't seem like the best strat here.

Cyber felt advantage prepatch so I would stick to that. Since Cyber has such good footsie tools and harassing mid knives you can force her into mistakes and keep a good range. The usual footsie'ing and bootleg mixups work well enough. From my exp staying just outside her F1 range is ideal. She can't really do shit from that range, that far out her Kara is reactable, and her Ji's are so weak that you can B1 combo on reaction. Also backdash'ing her is easier than most since she has short range. Her specials obviously are super punishable.

Watch out for gunshots as an ender. You have to eat the chip and damage on string enders and can't punish. Also watch out for +Rockets on block frame traps. The run cancels into 12 after it are a true block string. Keep her in the neutral, don't let her get inside, anything from outside the her F1 range to 3/4 away is great range in the MU. On a D1 on hit you have to block her B2.

That's off the top of my head that I can think of.

Iirc knives beat out guns both in speed and damage so she has to come in. She can't jump in because of godlike anti airs. Her run speed is great but Kano can control space well with f4, b2, b1. Every combo goes into ball to rinse repeat.

That said I haven't payed this MU in ages

All of this yup. Knives cut shots short, and shots are only 7% when all hit. Good trading overall and knives are faster/better recovery. Now with new UpLaser she can't even jump outside of the B1 range. Occasional EX Knives at mid screen too. This match builds meter more than most.

You have to really keep her playing footsies and blowing her up because his footsies is godlike in comparison to hers. Going hand to hand is the last thing to do in this MU.

Yeah if you can keep her out it's gg. If she gets in it's rough. But if played perfectly (ie not by me) she shouldn't be allowed to get in

Exactly. Eventually she'll get in her range, but Cyber can make a good read, punisher her, and KD right back into ideal range.

I have to play this with the new Jacqui buffs in effect because now we'd have to block more pressure than before and also deal with EX Air Pound when prior B1 killed her whole air movelist. Still think it'll fall in Kano's favor though.

Also cute seeing all you CT lads talkin bout F4xxSlice. I been doin f4 cancel -or-not mixups for so long. Have to in commando. One of his few mind games. :)
