Maaaaaaaaaan.. no disrespect to Kizzle and Maxter, Sektor has certainly brought out great fundamentals and integrity in them both. But, I swear I'm gonna end up picking up Kabal temporarily just to help show people how to approach the matchup.

I'm not sure about top 5, but 10 is a given. He is a god like character.

To be fair he had alot of fundamental hindering bugs back then, it didn't help that almost everyone was held to their damage potential either ("LAWL JAX SUX" "SUB-ZERO IS SOOO AWESOME WOOO HOOO" anyone?), because Sektor has spent so much time under the radar in that respect, he now deals it in droves and has so many good assets to get it going. Even I would've laughed at anyone trying to convince me that Upmissile is a top 5 footsie tool this time last year.

Sektors alright, solid character, but not top 5.

In MK though the top tier is so close to the bottom tier that anything can happen in the right players hands.

Gotta try and control these "Is X top tier" though every time a character wins a match...

Yeah as many people have already stated, Sektor is definitely not top 5. A top 5 character is someone who either has bullshit or someone who excels in a certain facet of the game. Sektor is near top in a lot of things but not quite there. Top 10 is definitely debatable.

Sektor blows up footsies, zoning and jump ins. There's not 10 characters definitively better than him.

This guy has a very similar design and strengths as Kitana and similar weaknesses yet everyone has her at the top and he's sub top 10. Get out of here.

wanna blow up jumpins? anti air. (something ikizzle did on EVERY jump in, this was not sektor specific, everyone can do it but they just dont.)
wanna beat his 6 frame jab? backdash on prediction, if hes mashing jab he gets 11 which is whiff punishable, or just d1/3 him all day.

sektor is top 10 IMO, but not for the reasons people are stating here. saying hes top 5 just because he won a few tournaments is really dumb, considering the whole community makes fun of the fact threads like these exist after every tournament, its really wierd how people are STILL making them, lol.

This past week I've started to phase out Jax in favor of sektor so I'll finally have an answer for both KL and Kabal.

Sektor is right around top 10. His zoning/anti-zoning is especially brutal.

Anyone that has a move or special that can interupt other strings half way through should be considered high, which is why Sektor and Kung Lao should be top 5 in my opinion.

Characters that have armour moves should also be considered. Kabal, Kenshi and Skarlet both have armoured moves that lead straight into combos. I guess Raiden could be included for teleporting between combos and starting his own.

Skarlet, Sektor, Lao, Kenshi Raiden and Kabal for Top 6?

I dont play Sektor, but I know the character almost as well as my own.

He has something to deal with every situation, BUT players wont see it until it actually gets applied properly, which is as rare as the Sektor players themselves.

Well, I know sektor is bad a match.

But there is one flaw you can exploit in this match, and that is, sawblade the shit out of sektor on wake up and in general as the Teleport punch wiffs during your sawblade animation, and you get your punish with Kabal.

I think you already know that, but I have not seen anyone exploit it before.

2. A 100% unpunishable low starter.

3. Awesome wakeups.

4. Great overhead options.

5. A totally safe spammable flamethrower.

7. Amazing d1 and d3 for poking out of pressure, super plus on block and hit!

8. He's red! Red is awesome!
