Do you guys reckon DS would benefit from a fake gunshot, sort of like Ryu's fake fireball in Super Turbo HD, to go along with the nerfs?
You still wouldn't be able to "spam" or whatever the online warriors were complaining about, but it would put some mindgames into zoning again, by giving you something to bait gun counters. Or even just make gunshots a move that you can hold, like Batgirl's bola and some other moves, so that you can change timing and dash cancel out of it to play mindgames with people.
Not sure. I've tried absolutely everything in trying to get people to react incorrectly and punish a gunshot that didn't actually happen - whiffing normals, whiffing Sword Spin (not a great idea), dashing, and even stance switching - but the ones that want to bait and punish a gunshot tend to be extremely adamant in not reacting. I'm honestly more focused on using his guns just for punishment, while occasionally using MB low guns to harass from a distance. That seems to be the most pragmatic way to use his guns post-patch, and a fake gun wouldn't really help with that.

A gun cancel would be nice because around that midscreen range, I feel the opponent undergoes a lot of tension because they're ALMOST there. They're usually quite on edge about abandoning block to approach again. I often find myself just dashing in at this point and going for a mixup or throw. Just so it wouldn't be THAT punishable, but I can see why, he covers a lot of horizontal space that most characters can't. He's like Guile on steroids in terms of controlling space. That's the way I see it at least.His guns were perfectly fine before - every character could walk their way in with minimal damage (his dmg was already low putting his zoning game in the annoying territory rather than BS) and some could dash in.
Now every character can punish it on block at beyond half screen.... Fucking stupid. Meanwhile Black Adam can full screen dive kick and be plus (and his trait is gdlike) Superman still has all his dirt (including a 1 frame full screen grab super), Aquaman who has no trouble keeping people out still has a free combo breaker (no that's not OP at all!) and plenty of other characters still retain their dirt.
I want my fucking guns back!

That or the chip damage nerf would have been acceptable levels of nerfing (I was expecting lgs to get nerfed somewhat anyway) What they've actually done is completely kill his zoning game. Have y'all seen the Arkham Origins trailer?
Even though im hype for arkham origins because of slade, I know they are going to depower him in the game like they did for this game... fun fact: batman has never beaten deathstroke in a fight in the comics
