how does Gl fair vs Deadshot?

Who is the best GL player to watch?
On pig's rhs there is a match between gross and P2w that's worth a look. It doesn't look easy, but it doesn't look impossible.

Ofidyan has a 3 part vid of some good setups. Orochi has 1 match on war of the gods that was streamed. Otherwise not much yet.

Why isn't Jax's Farm a playable stage?
What are you guys doing if they keep doing delayed wake ups? It seems to be the best way to deal with the f3 and crossover ji3 setups. If we know they are going to do a delayed wake up there must be specific setups for that.

Does GL have an invincible wakeup? I've tried everything but nothing seems to work... I get stuffed. If it's Wall, I'm clearly butching the timing.

The wall has invincibility frames, but it's not up to you to time, it's your opponent. If they hit you at the right time, they can stuff you pretty much every time, but it's a read not many know about, so you can force them to whiff with delayed getup.

It's undoubtedly a bad match up for Green Lantern as of right now. He has to take more risks and will almost always be behind on meter, but it is possible with patience and solid reads.

Dr Gross is a very good Green Lantern, he played Playing2Wins Deadshot on Pig's stream last Sunday. He loses the set but it was only 3-2. However the 5th match really does show what a train wreck that matchup can be if Deadshot gets his zoning started.

I'll try and set up a GL king of the hill in a few days. I'll make a group message and invite the people from this thread and we can try and find a time that works for everyone.

Watch the gross vs P2W match. After a traited Lm pop up he whiffs a f2 into a F3 cross-up and if he sees your delaying the wake up he does a second f2 into the F3 cross up. The F2 isn't necessary but do what ever works for you

In all honesty that should have been a 3-1 set for Gross but he messed around in game 4 and it went to hell

Ah, OK. So if it can be stuffed, it's not fully invincible then. I wasn't sure if he had a true get off me move. Seems like no.

2231 my fav combo ender lol. Also, just want to point out his wall wake up isn't invincible frames since it can be stuffed...Sadly he doesn't have the best wake ups, but whatever. Always some characters who have shittier wake ups than others.

This gap/backdash thing has been around since the first Injustice. That said, I've never really seen anyone actually doing this in tournament at high level. I can't think of a single time in the first game that this happened in a competitive match, though I'm sure someone can post up a video to prove me wrong.

At least for now, I'm not going to worry too much about this until it starts becoming a problem. b+1 comes out really fast. Not sure if any of you guys tested in practice mode, you need to stop blocking low and do the backdash almost immediately after the move connects to backdash in time. Due to how fast b+1 comes out, and just taking into account standard human reaction time, I'm not going to freak out over this yet.

Yes, it's very easy to backdash this consistently in practice mode. When the computer is just throwing out a set move. And you're specifically waiting for it. In an actual match where you have a hundred different things to consider every second, that mental tax often makes it way more difficult to react to something that happens this quickly.

I don't have the frame data in front of me, but I think it's 9 startup for the b+1, 13 startup for the 3? That's 22 frames total - roughly 1/3 of a second, which is the general edge of reaction time for most people. In the middle of a match, with a lot of think about, it's definitely difficult to do on reaction (in my opinion).

There was a big discussion I had with Slips years ago about this, and 20 versus 30 frame moves, using Tekken as our measuring stick, since we had both played it for over a decade. 30 frames is very reactable. 20 frames makes it very hard.

If you stagger the b1, so just do b1, you can catch every backdash in the game on reaction with a second b1 unless you are at full distance the first time, and even then you can just do lantern's might when you see the backdash. I thought about it, and there is minimal risk on this end for you, while the opponent takes a big risk trying to punish, whether with backdash or d2 to catch the overcharged lantern. Likely why this gap doesn't get acted on much in competitive play.
