Dont like it buy the mkx controller.
You guys are getting chances to compete while sitting at home in your comfort zone playing at your best possible with minimum pressure.
We all play K.I. On the xbone and making combo videos and stuff and no issues at all.

Disagree. The entire thing is horseshit. Console exclusivity should be a thing of the past and benefits no one but the company endorsing the exclusivity. Isolate an entire side of the gaming community then attempt to label the other side as a "pro" scene? Yeah, no thank you to literally everyone involved in promoting this scheme.

You realize this isn't a conspiracy right? It's not like NRS purposefully told everyone to go ps4 and then secretly made this deal with ESL. EVO was what determined ps4 for mkx initially. They are unrelated instances.

Also one quick point on the PC topic that I still don't understand why people don't get it yet, pc's are expensive as heck twice if not three times as high as a console and folks still wonder why TOs aren't switching to them?

You can build a PC with perfect console parity for a hundred dollars cheaper than buying a console; for the same amount of money you'd expend on that console you can do notably better. Your assertion would have been true ten years ago when the 360 and PS3 were new and offering very robust hardware for the price point, but the Bone and PS4 do not hold up the same way. PC is flat out better power for the price - plain fact.

Didnt the PS4 beat the X1 in that poll for like over 10 to 1 in voting proportion? PS4 should be the console to go for mkx, EVO will play mkx with the PS4, PS4 can use the Sticks, X1 cant and PS4 has better hardware, and way better pad, the X1 pad is good for shooters not fighters.

While the install base of the PS4 is double that of the XB1, I highly doubt everyone on this site participated in that pole. There are a surprising amount of people playing on the XB1 in addition to most of the KI community being interested. Also, you saying the XB1 pad is good for shooters and not fighters is purely an opinion. I think the pad is pretty good.

Of course it isn't a conspiracy. This has nothing to do with misrespresentations. I completely understand the situation. ESL is a subsidiary of Turtle Entertainment, which is partnered with Microsoft. Microsoft worked with the ESL and NRS to create and promote this event, thus it is on X-Bone. Crystal clear from the outset.

None of that changes the practicalitiy of NRS endorsing and (as of this post) solely promoting a tournament that is labeled a "Worldwide," "Competitive" & "Pro" event, but excludes over half of the community player base. Nor does it change the fact that it only benefits the corporate sponsorship to further the incredibly stupid console wars.

@JRosa21 -- the tournament standard in the FGC will still probably be PS4, because that's what EVO is on. As annoying as this may be, ESL and the grassroots FGC are really two entirely separate things and their decisions don't really have any bearing on each other.

I've seen it mentioned that the ESL app that they use for online tournaments only works with XB1 and PC.

I think that is TBD. The netcode will play a strong role, but if it's solid, I find it hard to believe casual Joe, that button mashes, would beat a high level player in a ft1.

There's no reason to be upset, every console ever made has had a war w another in some way. This is no different.

Ps4 is a much better system, therefor it was picked by Evo to be the system of choice, also because of sfV, etc

Xbone from what I've heard has always been used by esl not to mention a lot of people own a xbone so this helps those guys out who had to buy a ps4 because Evo said so.
