thank you this is all im saying. lao's offense is pretty straight forward he's never hitting you with any surprises. as you pointed out.. the rest of the cast are getting all these buffs and more dirt. and with the other changes that may get implemented in the game just makes it a lot worse. there is a lot of catering going on.
I heard dvorah gets nerfed and no buffs atleast Lao was top 5 for awhile

This is hilarious. Kung Lao loses 5 frames on a move but at the end of the day is still +7.. Uproar because he can no longer get a guaranteed D4 so hes "dead".

Meanwhile resident Quan down player... Mr. Dink is over there looking at his old +14 EX Rune that's knocked down to -1,guaranteeing nothing and an immediate pressure switch and for once he's like "yeah this is fine"

So a D4 isn't guaranteed anymore... it's not the end of the world. Kung Lao probably won't be #1 anymore, does that mean he won't still be good? Hell no, he'll still be near the top. And we still don't know what happened to Tanya, Tremor and Predator, but it's pretty safe to say they'll get knocked a bit too. So before you guys jump around saying he's dead, you might want to see if Tanya gets actually neutered and then maybe you'll be happy Lao only got hit this much.

Tempest nerfs were a bit much. Making ex hat spin+7 alone is already a big change. His damage didn't need a 3/4% nerf, 2% would have been enough.

The jump 2 nerf also affects his other variations which is stupid if they dont get stuff in return. Buzzsaw gets low damage and hat trick obviously wasnt that good to begin with.

Yes he has. The first one? Understandable the second? Alright I'll live. But the third time? Talk about catering....
He currently gets 42% midscreen for a bar off a safe, barely reactable, long range overhead into massive corner carry into a hard knockdown into an armor breaking setup into ridiculous unreactable armor breaking stagger pressure which he will use to do at least 10% more chip damage and possibly build back the bar he spent lol. You Tempest downplayers are something else. The only problem with a 3% damage nerf is that the 44 link is still inconsistent, which they should fix. It doesn't matter how many times his damage was nerfed before, it's still too high for what he gets out of this variation.

How did JI2 get nerfed? Is it slower? Less hit/block adv?

Also ex spin sucking you in on block. Lol.

+7 for a bar with pushback... Who is going to respect that? D1 gets out of that free. Anyone know the cool down on his hat? Even if he connects a F2 he might not be able to hit confirm into anything because of the cool down.

I'd be fine with more damage scaling off 44 if DB1 had better plus frames on hit.

Kung Lao is still really strong and completely viable but this version compared to the current (non-beta) roster isn't Top 5 anymore. Nothing is guaranteed, you have to make way more guesses, but that's the meta I guess.

Really want some hat trick and buzz saw changes/buffs. Just compare hat trick to Ronin and you can see all the ways it could improve.

Depends on what else they have. Sorcerer Quan gets almost all of that exactly but he has no armored wakeup. I'd have no problem with Tempest's current damage into setups if he lost armor on EX spin, but that would be slightly too much and it wouldn't make sense, so he's gotta lose damage. If he got the same damage with half the corner carry and no hkd then it'd be fine too. It's all relative. GM Sub does low midscreen damage with the same corner carry but no safe clone setup. That's 2 top tier characters who have similar tools but sacrifice a lot to get them while Lao doesn't, and I still say both GM and Sorcerer need slight damage nerfs too despite this.

I'll ask this question , what is the purpose of meter burn hat-spin now that it is +7? ; why would any one spend a meter to do that , in a game where there are 6 frames normals and armor moves , what advantage does it give to Lao ?, when all of Lao normal starts at 8 up to 19frames , Kung Lao is definitely high risk low rewards, no 50/50 mix up , no pressure , and no damage , so Lao is now a N Tier character (NERF TIER) ..
Poor Lao players, you actually have to make reads now.

Man.. what you've been saying on the past several pages... You're one of the biggest downplayers I've seen. Your character was universally known as the #1 character in the game, and these nerfs overall seem pretty reasonable. Hold your L and learn from this.

EX-spin losing to other armored moves on occasion I'll give you. The armor probably doesn't last very long because of how fast it is. Even still EX-spin is a 7-frame wakeup and reversal that leads to seriously good damage.

Cryo is a 50/50 variation, Lao does not have one. Cryo is very rarely +, Lao has + frames to work with. Cryo does not have actual pressure besides the 50/50, Lao has pressure and staggers aplenty. This is not a good comparison.

So I made a thread a couple days ago asking what would be fair nerfs to tone Tempest down a little bit, and the general consensus was to normalize j2 and possibly orbiting hat. I agree with the j2 nerf but I think the orbiting hat +7 and 44 link damage nerf are overkill.

People are saying the hat spin into 44 link does less, but does it do the same linking into f23? Increasing the scaling on hat spin was one of my ideas in that thread but after thinking about it and playing him online I think it's too much and I hope they didn't do that.

The TYM drama queens are out here, though.

I'm guessing 3 more patches. The beta changes to be implemented on March 1st, another patch a month or so later to fix the dlc characters cause god knows they'll be broke, and some final touches to finish off the game with it's last patch.
No more patches after kp2. Paulo said this will be the last patch for mkx after the dlc is out. When we asked what will happen if the dlc is broken he said they may release small updates to fix that if they have the time. Basically what we get now is what we get forever unless something is insanely broken.

All noobs will be eating GM Sub Zero for days now in this new netcode, Tom Brady tech still works. I'm projecting this character will be 10x more devastating than any of the current top tiers (If they get nerfed as expected), I just started learning GM now in the beta and I can already see how good this character will be with just around 2 hours using of him on both version combined. Loving that 16% safe low starter midscreen damage :), who will stop this carnage???... Nobody breh you can nerf the character but you can't nerf the players ;)
