What's the point of a random Krypt?
I just hope they are conservative with both the amount of patches, and what those patches do. Fix glitches, adjust hitboxes, add or remove one or two frames here and there, some small damage adjustments, and then we're done.

My biggest changes would be altering some KB requirements, and nerfing all Fatal blows, although I would nerf some more than others.

no problem its all just my opinion anyway. he doesnt need a low/overhead starter he has 11 into low sand or 11 into overhead that both kb on punish..
he shouldnt be a 50/50 character when he has a tick throw variation with a cmd grab
This is exactly why there is no chance his move gets taken out.

Sun Choke - allow us to choose sides. I'd be fine with amplify doing this.

Sunlight - less recovery so it's not punishable after combo and we can safely get it out after we win neutral.

12 & 22 - first hit have more range so they can be used without wiffing after pushback.

Sword Pound - is completely reactible on animation and can easily be full combo punished on reaction. Reduce recovery.

I could ask for frames to be faster but I'll just take that. Maybe allow parry to be used after first hit it parties instead of stopping after the first hit. But I'd be fine with one or two of these changes. He sucks up close and has slow af frames, on top of that he can't get his counter zoning tools out and his Ground Pound is fully punishable on seeing animation.

Here's what I'd like to see change in a balance patch:

1) Nothing, game just came out. Let stuff have time to breathe. Balance it like after Christmas or something.

2) turn the mobile game into a tower mode manager or something so I can grind when I'm not home.

I kind agree. But if they do, I really hope to see a fix of whiffing issues on strings that should be whiffing. Basically just fix all the stuff that shouldn’t be happening.

And a slight buff to the lower tier characters at the time. That’s it really. Yeah some characters are ridiculous but there’s not really any characters that are so good that there’s no reason to use anyone else. I know it feels like Geras, EB, Sub etc are too good but I really think they will be fine. I just never liked the tier shifting. If a character isn’t straight up broken then just lift the bottom up to be able to compete.
 
Small buffs to some characters, like Jade (her gameplay feels too "slow"), Jax (he needs a decent pressure, but overall he is okay) and Johnny (mainly just changing his KB requirements)

Decent buffs to Kano, D'vorah and Shao Kahn

Small nerfs to Erron Black, Geras and Scorpion TP (Just to put them in line with the others characters...)

Overall, I don't want many changes, the game's balance feels okay rn...

F24 is unsafe but F2 is -6. I'm not sure about KD advantages because I don't have a chart of all the KD in the game yet. You could be right about that.

The only thing Sub-Zero needs is for his looping 50/50 mix to not be a thing anymore; this means standing 2, B32 and B14 need to all be neutral on hit so that the opponent isn't caught in a perpetual MKX-style mix situation. Otherwise, he's perfect as he is.

Top priority:
Fix Johnny's Krushing Blow requirements, maybe add one for Shadow Kick
Make his F4 safer on block, like -2 on block
FIx his hitbox issues

Maybe make F2 a mid, but that's not really a priority, just a wish. He's a solid character, just needs some small tweaks to hold his own against the top characters.

F2 is -6 on block. It needs to be punishable on block. Same with B3. All other changes are fine as well, as long as the character isn't going to be turned useless.

She's great til you go against decent zoners with good footsies. Getting out the corner in this game is SO much easier.

Think she's really strong though. Don't think she'd be one needing a buff at the moment.

Erron geras and scorpion need nerfs

Some character obviously need some buffs, but nothing huge mostly fixes at the moment.

Sonya and sub next on the chopping block if the rest of the cast aren't brought up to their level.

Why is Sonya's zoning so fucking stupid. Then you get in and it's mix city into 500 dial a combo

One thing that worries me was how heavy handed they were with D’vorah prepatch. Hopefully not a sign of thing to come
This is my concern as well. The D'Vorah changes seemed like a knee-jerk reaction, and said changes absolutely DESTROYED her. I am 100% for some notable nerfs to the top echelon and some slight nerfs to those right under them; but I want them to just have their oppressive stuff brought in line, not have them absolutely butchered.

The Day 1 Patch's D'Vorah nerfs are a notable lesson in making drastic changes with minimal data. I don't wanna see a patch until after Evo so all levels of players can get a decent amount of time in and NRS can get some good metrics prior to rolling out changes. I DO wanna see bug fix / hitbox fix patches prior to Evo, however. Those are more about the game not working as intended so they should be rolled out sooner rather than later (I'm looking at you, Cassie D2).

IMO the balancing of the game rn is an absolute joke and I have zero idea where NRS are going with it. I'd like to think they will fix hurtboxes and even out KBs across the board. Atleast I hope so.

The game just came out and there is a balance patch discussion. Its way too early for it imo. If NRS does that now then it will never stop since players will constantly demand nerfs or buffs.

I'd be all for a patch that fixes unintentional design (balance can fall under this), bugs, incorrect frame data and minor changes.

Blood ball - startup decrease to 32 frames (from 33)
Parry - decrease startup by 2 frames from 9 to 6, increase recovery by 2 frames
B2 KB - Damage increase removed, vertical launch on KB instead if life have been drained from the opponent once before activation (Throw back to the all mighty MK9 downslash everyone claimed to be able to block on reaction)
Return Cell Siphon to its glory recovers 9 points of health like parry, becomes +7 on amplify.
Make blood ritual steal 2 points of health per second instead of damaging both characters while still having the longer recovery it has.

New build (Blood Enhancements)
Red Rain (dd2) To increase damage ouput in the corner and lock some ppl with serious damage
Blood shield (dd3) Damage reduction
Killer Klot( db3) Replaces blood trail, no one gets near

Suggestion: Skarlet its supposed to become stronger when she absorbs health, this doesn't mean only health or damage, for example, using her siphon on amplify should allow her to increase her back walkspeed slightly in 2 levels or make her dashes cover a bit more distance in 2 levels this would make the move more interesting than having to drain health everytime.

I'm not 100% sure on what I want yet for balance changes, but in terms of what I think NRS is gonna nerf first:

  • Scorpion - teleport no longer able to meter burn on block
  • Geras - More recovery on blocked low trap, possible oki changes to normal throws
  • Erron - Dropkick more unsafe (including amp), possible change to acid interaction with back throw

The game is in a good place in regards to balance, the can take their time with that. Some hitbox fixes are more urgent, that would help the not-so-good characters.

The Fatal Blow system should be reviewed, but to be honest I don't know what would make it better.

As Character specific changes go, I'm afraid they will address balance by chnaging up moves in the tournament variations. Not a fan of this approach. Besides obvious ones like Scorpion Ex-Teleport on Block, there is not much I would change...
