Are you going to take MK11 seriously/competitively?

Are you wanting to be competitive in MK11?

No chance I'll compete in offline events living in East Bung Hole New Hampshire. I entered a couple of Dink's Xbox tourny's with I2. Ran a few matches with @C88 True Grave during the stress test so hopefully he'll run a few online tourny's for MK 11. I think the biggest thing I want to accomplish in this game is playing more of the roster. I've always been a character loyalist/specialist and with how incredible this roster is I really want to play as many characters as possible. MKX left such a bad taste in my mouth, it made me despise characters such as Scorp, Sub, Lui, and Loa, etc. When in reality these characters are so fucking incredible, I hate how that game made me feel towards these iconic characters.

As seriously as I can. I'll go to Combo Breaker, Evo, and Frosty Faustings most likely. But I have a full time job, a girlfriend, and I'm a pro wrestler who travels a lot, so I probably can't devote the time necessary to become a super high-level player

Dabluprint4

eh....
I plan on being super active at my local scene in Austin as well as travel to a few majors. I know for a fact that I'll be at combobreaker. I plan on going to Texas showdown too. Texas Showdown just depends on when the semester is over. I;m in grad school and I work full time lol so it'll be kinda difficult for me.

I'd say I'd like to be competitive in MK, but more in the sense that I'd like to actually get decent at a fighting game. I'm not really interested in tournaments. If MK had a Bronze/Silver/Gold/Platinum ranking, I'm just trying to get to that Silver or Gold level.

I'm not even sure if I will get this game at all. I have been hardcore at fighting games for mk9 mkx and inj2. Fighting games demand lot of time and practice to get good, time that is taken away from other games, or other activities in general. Before I started grinding mkx and inj 2 I used to beat all AAA games in the market now I have a huge backlog. If I play play this game this time probably I will not go as hardcore as before and not sure if a fighting game can be enjoyed when you aren't putting the time to practice your combos and mu.

Yeah, I'm planning on taking it more seriously. I still will be working a lot, but with there being a Switch version, and me having a bit more time, I should be able to hold my own offline. I may not be online that much, but I will definitely be traveling around Florida more, going to ATL if possible, and trying to stay competitive.

Looking forward to getting some MK11 sets in with you.

I can remember the days when I was pulling off stupid combos in MK9 and shutting down teams of 4 by myself in Halo...

Now it's like: "Wait, to pull off this combo you want me to tap □,□,○??? Bitch, I just figured out D+2 and you expect me to memorize that?" XD

Tl;dr: Getting old sucks lol

More salt please.
I'm going to take MK11 more seriously. I feel like ever since 9 with each new fighting game I have slowly been getting more involved with the community. I'm going to start going to more locals and tournaments with 11. After playing the stress test I can really feel like I am enjoying the pace of the game. Hyped for the Beta this week.

If you guys can’t attend offline tournies due to busy life or different reasons, not to worry we will host online tournaments as often as we can

With that said, I wish I could be serious about getting great at the game but with the responsibilities I have it’s kinda hard to dedicate the required time so I’d have to settle for being as competitive as possible with the limited time, but don’t get me wrong I’d be a late night online warrior. If you haven’t added me my Xbox live gamertag is Gerchap

I'll play it & watch all the tournaments I can until the next one comes out as usual, but im probably not going to get the feeling back in my fingers any time soon so I will remain garbage.

This is the first time in an MK game online since Deception on the original Xbox where I feel that I want to invest some time into getting good. From the stress test I'm getting similar vibes as I did playing Deception online and having a real fun time with it. At one point I managed somewhere in the top 50 on the UK leaderboards online back then which was awesome.

I'll probably still be scrub level by most standards but fuck it, MK11 is the only reason I renewed my PS+ after nearly 3 years of not paying. Can't wait!

Filthy Casual
I'm still a pretty casual player in that I won't be competing online/offline but I definitely want to improve and get better. I tend to be a character loyalist though which can... complicate things .

I consider myself casually competitive. I will never have enough time to dedicate towards being a top player but Ill always strive to continually develop my skills at my own pace.
Win or lose I look forward to playing with as many of you as possible to gain experience and match up knowledge.
My thoughts exactly. I've always straddled the line between casual and competitive. I've always been a huge fan of the competitive scene, but at this point in my life I don't think I could hope to be involved in it myself due to IRL responsibilities. I'll more than likely be just an Online Warrior for MK11

Circus

Part-Time Kano Hostage
I've only ever attended the first CEO tourney for every NRS game before I had to focus more on life.

Mk9 2011:
4th place

Injustice 1:
16th place

MkX:
32nd place

(didn't really play Inj2 like that)

I got progressively worse placings because I've been so busy finishing up school and dealing with Army stuff.

Now that I have more free time and live 20mins from Atlanta.... yeah, I think it's time to see what I got if I dedicate myself. I hope my lifestyle allows me to focus on a hobby like this though.

Either way, I'll be more than happy to be people's demon in ranked if there is finally a cool ranking system :D

I consider myself a bit above the casual mark, as I can generally perform well with most characters, remember specials for most characters, and learn and execute complex combos for my mains.

But I will surely get my ass handed to me by most of the people on this site, I’m guessing. I don’t have the time, nor the desire, to memorize frame data and punishes for every move, matchups, counter-picks, and all that jazz.

So while I’d love to be great at the game, that requires too much time and character devotion. So far I’m loving all of these new character designs, so I’ll settle for okay-to-decent with everyone. I just want to play them all!

I generally play quite a few matches online and have a ton of fun. Wayyyyy more fun than CPU fights. However, I barely touch ranked. Usually just hang in lobbies and hope to find people of equal skill or slightly better, so I can have fun and learn. I can’t learn against top dogs who leave me feeling like my controller isn’t even responding, haha.

I'm pretty much right there with you, brother. If you, or anyone else that identifies as casual wants to hit me up, my PSN is Sinlicker. I love good, but relaxed matchups. Would be nice to have more casuals (or a notch above, in your case ;) ) to play MK 11 with :)
