500+ Damage Combos with Supergirl (Competitive Mode) NEW TECH?

Tweedy

Tweedy with the dam buffs comin to sg you thinkin about hoppin on the other kryptonian?

As far as the thread goes, shujinkydink makes content for tons of chars... the main complaint for sg is her combo/punish dam is weak. He found this tech which can be nice for that and posted it to be helpful/promote his channel. I don't expect people like him to read 15 pages of general thread for chars before he posts tech. Thanks shujinky!
I've been playing her since the patch stream.

You don't even need the BGB, she does pretty similar damage all on her lonesome. The trick is waiting on the B3 until they are about to hit the floor, which causes the bounce to be higher and allowing Supergirl to chain heavy attacks like j3 into stand 3, which is normally impossible to cancel into Full Trait Zap off of MB Frost Breath. You can even do it off of regular moves of hers with the Tornado-y thingy.

The MB SRZ stuff is more of punish only scenarios, but you can probably hit confirm off a J1 pretty easily, and the damage is way higher than her standard fare. Hard to execute, for sure; even the frame kills I have there aren't an end all and it's easy to fudge the timing. Worth trying, though.

This is why I love TYM. Most of this thread is about semantics and the morality of reposting on an internet forum. I thought the point of this thread was to discuss the viability of instant jump 2 as a punish, neutral tool, and followup to setups. Looks like everyone has made up their mind without watching the whole video, let alone trying it out in the lab.

Nobody hounded him though. All that was stated was that it's not "new" tech which is the truth. It's barely mentioned because it's not very useful. It's been talking about amongst supergirl players here, Twitter, and discord. It's not our fault if they didn't know about it tbh. I'm not sure how any supergirl main didn't already know this
It's an obnoxious practice. It doesn't matter if there's been oblique references to it in the past.

Someone starting a conversation in your character forum is never a bad thing, but all this, "it was known bro" horse shit is not only old as fuck but it kills conversation.

I'm going to let you in on a secret: Not everyone is apart of your Supergirl discord and it's insane to think someone should have to dig through 50+ pages of junk to find good info on one character when there are 31 other characters to study up on.

So threads like this are helpful for those of us who don't main Supergirl.

The point isn't about myri specifically, it's about a super toxic and shitty practice that's gone on for too long.

Cut that shit out. That's all I'm trying to say.

It is new tech though. New isn't the part that ji2 links into tele. New is the concept. Using it for punishes and whiff punishing and setups. New ways to use it, implement it and new combos. Even darksyde said I found higher damaging combos and stuff. And even if a few super girl players knew the possibility no one stepped forward to have a conversation and force discussion about the tech. And you're currently hurting that discussion even more by derailing a thread that was made to explore the character

Whatever beef you have with the whole "This is old stuff" that's your business. I watched the video. I don't care that he posted it all i said was we know about j2 into tele and it's not really a gamechanger for her. Period. Take your attitude about the other shit elsewhere.
Btw I don't have a supergirl discord the community does. Deal with it man

What new way to use it? Punishing? What is the point of that when it's not even 7f off an instant jump? Furthermore you have to be in specific situations to use it. Nobody "stepped forward" to make a thread or explore it because we just didn't feel it was necessary and still don't. You're not doing to see supergirl players whiff punishing with j2 man come on. You def cannot hit confirm that either so Idk why that was even brought up but okay. I'm just going to pce out because you guys are taking things the wrong way and getting in your feelings about it. Either way I said thanks for uploading the new combos for the people who want to try and implement it into their game. Kudos

I think the issue is labeling it "new tech" when it was common knowledge by most SG players at this point.

The problem with the JI2 into MB TP is that you can't hit confirm. You have to just do it after the JI2. If you try to hit confirm she will tp from the ground and it won't be a combo. And the MB TP is -25 on block. It's good on certain HKD setups I've been working on though, but they can still just block the JI2. It's best if you're jumping over something and punishing with JI2 because you know it'll land.
Actually you can hit confirm from J1 or J2. You cancel into float first. If you see it hit, then follow up with the J2 into MB tele. Otherwise, you can air dash back or forward, or even drop down with J2 anyway and try to catch your opponent pressing buttons. Yes it isn't technically entirely safe, but the fact that your opponent has to make a read to punish you makes it "effectively safe."

If it's on block, JI1 into float is very easily punished with at least a D2 (most characters). No matter if you follow the float up with a JI2, air back/forward dash. The only thing that is unpunishable is JI3 (on block) xx float, JI1. Because of the block stun from JI3.

But you're right, JI1 xx Float, JI2 is hit confirmable. Although you'll do a little less damage since doing float in a combo scales it. And it's much better to just do J2 as a punish then risk getting punished off a blocked JI1 xx float.

I think dink should be lauded for posting this... if this tech was "known" how come I have NEVER SEEN IT ONCE in any event (and I watch nearly all the stream vods)...
Cause it's not very helpful. You'll continue to not see it.

Is it bad that I would rather read a Fred Marvel thread than a Supergirl Community run thread? Yall are horrible lol.
This entire thread is why Discord > TYM. I don't even bother communicating on TYM often anymore. Too many toxic scum bags spreading misinformation, that have absolutely nothing to contribute but negativity. I know its not relevant, or even a healthy thought... but these dudes shitting on @STB Shujinkydink for sharing something that has never really been properly discussed... He would straight up shit all over in them in game.

This tech is good but it's not some huge game changer like a lot of people are saying it is. You can use it to punish very unsafe things for great damage but throwing it out otherwise is suicide (assuming they can react to teleport... and they should). It has slow startup for a punish and a high up hitbox so you're limited against what characters you can use this against.

That said, this will be very useful against characters like Atrocitus who consistently use a horribly punishable move.

Based on testing, the move comes out to about 13 frames startup. Not the fastest punisher, but do remember that it can also be used as a neutral tool and can be hit confirmed.

Who even is shitting on Dink in this thread? Unless you're implying saying something is known is shitting on someone?

TYM (once a much more positive place) has turned into a toxic environment. I see something like "this is known dawg" and I automatically assume its connotation is negative. Excuse my hyperbole. "shitting on" was a bit much. Just kidding. I REGRET NOTHING!!!

I don't get why saying this was known is an inherently bad or "toxic" thing. Especially since the main draw to the thread is the "NEW TECH" in all caps. Which I added a question mark at the end, fyi.

Literally all of this would have been avoided if the narrative was along the lines of "J2 MB TP Punish Discussion" or something like that. I guarantee you no one would have said "this is known" because there would be no reason to. When you claim something is "new tech" especially in a thread title, if it's not new it's inevitable people are going to let you know.

It's kind of clickbaity yeah, but the fact that people get heated over something so small as people thinking some tech is new when it was posted in page 32 of some other random thread 2 and a half months ago is just as laughable.

I can understand why people would get annoyed. Someone posts tech everyone who mains the character already knew and claims it's new, then you get hordes of people coming in like, "I knew this character was unexplored" "bunch of downplayers" "the character's good just the players are trash" etc... So obviously that's going to irritate you.

It's easy to avoid - just check the forums before posting tech and claiming it's new, that's what I do. It took me like a minute to find where this tech was already posted and it prevents your tech threads from turning into this.

This thread may contain the stupidest argument i've read all day. And that's saying something.

On topic, I don't see this being used too often because it's hella unsafe, but good on Dink for throwing it out there.
