500+ Damage Combos with Supergirl (Competitive Mode) NEW TECH?

It's all so very confusing.
I dunno. I don't see why people can't mention it's not brand new in such a way as not to sound hateful. I know it's the internet and all and nothing done and said here is supposed to matter (as sick and terrible a concept as that is) or be "real" but damn.

"Hey yeah, I remember a couple months ago we/they/such and such a player found some stuff like that but we didn't explore it heavily for x-y-z reasons"

Shrug.

It never fails. It's like a race for someone on TYM to say, "this was known" to any tech thread.

One time, I can't remember who it was, someone posted tech in a character forum for MK. As usual, everyone said "this was known, lol".

So he asked for links to the original thread. No one could provide them. Not in the forum and not in the general discussion thread. No one could find links to where the tech was first discussed but multiple posters were blowing up the OP by saying it was "known".

Gosh, I just can't remember who it was.
Yes it is annoying when people do that and the tech isn't posted anywhere, though in this case @myri is absolutely right. Posted by @DarksydeDash on the 20th May:

So Dink calling it new tech is absolutely wrong and Myri was right to call him out on it. There's nothing wrong with bringing old tech to the light because others may not know but you're just asking for trouble if you're calling it brand new tech.

I don't think someone saying hey this works I'm gonna lab it counts as new tech. I fleshed it out, showed examples of how to use it and high damage combos. I think it's justified

What "new tech" was shown? I couldn't have the volume up because I'm at work.

Also, if you get a J2 near the BGB, you can do the same damage meterless or at least close to it. JI2, 3 xx BGB, B3, JI3, B1, B12 xx MB trait. Or Instead of MB trait, just do B123 for the setups off the HKD.

Also if you wanna get even more damage, do MB B3. Actually it's around 480 or so so definitely less.

This actually kinda strengthens the argument against Myri's post because it was just a random post buried in her general discussion. If there were a thread about it or a lengthy discussion, then maybe dink would be in the wrong here.

You basically said j2 into teleport is new. It is not. The combos may be new sure but thats not new tech that's just optimal damage from tech that was already known. Also using a bgb after a teleport and using trait as an ender is not really fleshing something out that's again just optimizing. There's nothing wrong with your video at all its fine, it's just kind of odd to say that this is all new when it isn't

Bruh regardless of where it was posted it was here already. Just because nobody made a huge thread about it doesn't really mean anything. It doesn't change the dynamic of how she plays or is that big of a help to warrant a thread. This is all good in practice it's not really going to help much in a game specifically when her best jump in is j1 not j2.

So hold on. What I'm reading here is that this has been known the whole time that the SG community has been crying about her damage? Wether you have to be on point to do it or not is irrelevant, execution is your issue not the characters. The downplay has been unreal....
Well no because one high damaging combo off of a J2 doesn't make up for one bar BnBs that do less than 300 damage

What Dink posted was posted before but I don't see the problem with reiterating something.

It's especially embarrassing when it's something that wasn't known, and the person posting is just trying to be superior for no reason.
Not to mention new people coming into the scene, who may not of been around since week 1 or just picked up the character.

For instance, I had no clue at all about this until Dink posted and I frequent these forums.

You can hit confirm Jp1 into Jp2 or punish things like Subs slide with this.

What makes up for her 1 bar b&bs doing less than 300 damage is her toolkit and neutral.

She will hit you more than you hit her by design, sneak some of these combos in and your golden.

Because it gets old. This has been common on TYM since the beginning of time. Since something was posted about 1 time in a 50 page thread, or once in a discord chat, making a thread or elaborating on it, gets a response or multiple responses like "dis aint new kid".

Sometimes something might have been never talked about even once in the 50 page threads or discord groups, and you still see those responses. Myri's post wasn't over the top but @Rude and I decided to break our camel backs over it so deal with it homie.

I think the issue is labeling it "new tech" when it was common knowledge by most SG players at this point.

The problem with the JI2 into MB TP is that you can't hit confirm. You have to just do it after the JI2. If you try to hit confirm she will tp from the ground and it won't be a combo. And the MB TP is -25 on block. It's good on certain HKD setups I've been working on though, but they can still just block the JI2. It's best if you're jumping over something and punishing with JI2 because you know it'll land.

Nobody hounded him though. All that was stated was that it's not "new" tech which is the truth. It's barely mentioned because it's not very useful. It's been talking about amongst supergirl players here, Twitter, and discord. It's not our fault if they didn't know about it tbh. I'm not sure how any supergirl main didn't already know this

There is no downplay. This didn't drastically change her nor fix her damage issue. Stop with the nonsense lol

As far as the thread goes, shujinkydink makes content for tons of chars... the main complaint for sg is her combo/punish dam is weak. He found this tech which can be nice for that and posted it to be helpful/promote his channel. I don't expect people like him to read 15 pages of general thread for chars before he posts tech. Thanks shujinky!

If this was already known btw why is everyone complaining about her damage? Joker usually will do about 200-300 per combo unless I get lucky and read an advancing move and punish with neutral jump 2... at which point I have to land a quite difficult combo to net 460. I would happily trade that one combo for supergirls neutral and a wakeup.
