The Greasiest Moment In NFL 2013 Happened Today

When you are in a court, you are that judges bitch. I dont care what you did, I dont care if you are wrongly accused. You are in their house and must follow their rules. The problem with this country is people dont fucking respect authority anymore. That judge is there for a reason, they worked their way up and acquired that position for a reason. That is why in a courtroom they have the power, because they have earned it. Yeah they make mistakes and can sometimes be a little power hungry, but that does not matter. The best thing you can do is be on your absolute best behavior and be as respectful as possible. Respect goes a long way, especially when dealing with people of authority. If the judge was mocking him, that would be a totally different story.

He slapped his lawyer on the ass. While this seemed kind of insignificant it isnt in context. He did it WHILE she gave him the benefit of the doubt, while she was TRYING TO BE NICE. When someone does that to you and you throw that back in your face with silliness(no matter how small) you are going to be mad. Even doing a small thing like that will get you in trouble with a judge or any other person of authority. He could have easily just shook his lawyers hand and be done with it, but no, he had to make a scene.

And for those who obviously don't understand contempt of court, here is the actual legal definition:

Individuals may be cited for contempt when they disobey an order, fail to comply with a request, tamper with documents, withhold evidence, interrupt proceedings through their actions or words, or otherwise defy a public authority or hold it up to ridicule and disrespect. The laws and rules governing contempt have developed in a piecemeal fashion over time and give wide discretion to judges and legislative leaders in determining both what constitutes contempt and how it is punished.

As for why the bailiff or audience doesnt get contempt of court? Simple, they reacted to Johnson. For one thing the audience cannot be held in contempt unless they are disturbing the trial, but Johnson was the one who did that. The bailiff shouldve acted more professionally sure, but again he was reacting to Johnson. At the end of the day it was Johnson's actions that disrupted the sentencing, and that is why he is the one held in contempt.

The sooner people realize it is a good idea to respect authority, the sooner stuff like this wont happen. There is no ifs ands or buts about it, If you are in a courtroom, you are at the mercy of the judge. If you dont like our justice system, I suggest you go to Somalia where they have a minimal justice system. And you can have your guns and not even pay taxes! There is a reason we have government, there is a reason why we have people in positions of authority. No we dont live in a perfect world, and yes there is corruption at every turn. But their are ways to deal with this, and making a mockery of the system is not one of them.
With great power comes great responsiblity ( yeah spiderman bitch). Not the right to grandstand during a what is a public proceeding of a public figure. No it wasnt johnson who disrupted the court. Are you saying if nobody laughed or nobody was in the room it would of went down the same? Hell no it wouldnt have.

That is the point... he was disrupting the court because people were laughing... SMH.

What are you "falking" about? She was professional in the courtroom... you just didn't like it. Your opinion I guess. I am still waiting for you to tag me when she gets in trouble (which will never happen).
So its professional to grandstand as a judge during sentencing? Once again i must express my concerns about your paralegal courses.

It isn't professional... it isn't unprofessional... that wasn't covered in my paralegal course... that was covered in my fucking common sense course. If you thought it was unprofessional... please tell me why.

You already said... it basically says he bought his defense... BUT THAT IS HOW IT WORKS. I mean seriously?

I never said he was a special case, but dismissing his own experience shows a lack of empathy on your part. Each person handles stuff differently. I'm not even going to touch your own personal experience. A video game message board isn't an appropriate place for a talking avatar (me) to say anything about that.
I have empathy as another from a broken home. Saying he needs therapy when youve never even met the guy isnt empathy. Its passing judgement.

She absolutely did provoke it. You dont say what essentially amounts to" you only got this deal cause you payed for a great lawyer" if you are the freaking judge. That as unproffesional as it gets and reeks of bias from someone who is supposed to be unbiased.
That's your own assumption in assigning that context though (in her being snarky). While I might agree that she overreacted she had to make a judgement call on the spot regarding his behavior in the midst of a sentencing (which again, appeared disrespectful and mocking).

Bottom line though... even IF she was taking a jab at his lawyer getting him a plea bargain then common sense dictates that you just take that shit with a grain of salt because at the end of the day, you get to go home and laugh about it. What you DON'T do is react in a way that can be perceived as juvenile, disrespectful, and mocking to a person who holds the legal authority to bust your balls.

They were laughing as a direct result of his actions... it was his fault.
Lol no. Chad isnt responsible for what others do. Are you serious? If i dress up as a clown and shoot the tampa police chiefs daughter in the gut is it DCs fault ? No im responsible for my own actions.

I figured if you thought i was being biased maybe you should hear it from the rest of professional america on this topic.

The issue had passed, she was granting leniency to him and thus he created a new one right after giving him probation.

You do realize that if he left that court room, littered bubble gum on the sidewalk on probation he would have gotten 30 days min right? It was passed the issue of Domestic Violence and became a new issue with contempt. If you do know how to act in court then how the fuck can you defend him? If my kid did this Id be fine with he or she learning his lesson because apparently my voice wasnt heard loud enough to him/her.
I defend it because i didn't see it as a way of disrupting the court room until the people started laughing. I don't believe it was his intention to make it a mockery. If chad had given his attorney a pat on the back or shaked his hand would that have been disruption too. But you never can tell what a person is thinking so. I keep going back to the crowd and the security guy too because they should have kept their mouths shut like they were suppose to. But you know like Stephan A smith said. You are a "BLACK MAN" in a court room for domestic violence in front of white female judge LOL. He should have just kept his hands to himself. Each judge has different standards, and each one has different situations to make their blood start boiling. I agree with if I had a kid I would tell him or her that don't do anything stupid in court, just keep your mouth shut and answer the judge when she asks you a question and thats it because they will send you to jail for anything now a days.

Btw I didn't play the race card and i don't believe I accused of being biased, the comment i made about you being the judge and sending chad to jail was just a joke.

However i can't help but feel that if there was a "Mortal Kombat court room" and you were the judge, you would send certain players to the execution room ;).

They laughed at Johnson's actions, which was obviously trying to get a reaction out of everyone.

You are truly in denial.

In your extreme example? No.

I mean would you argue that it is the bullet that killed the daughter? I mean technically you are right... buy you shot the bullet.

You know... I don't think you will ever understand... I give up. The people were laughing as a result of Chad's actions... he is responsible. It isn't illegal to laugh in a courtroom either. In this specific instance it was impeding on the proceedings...

Let us go back to square one... why the fuck would it be ok to smack your lawyers ass? There is no excuse for that...

So its ok for the judge to be juvenile condescending and mocking? Their job is supposed to be that of an unbiased party that rules on matter pertaining to the law. Their job isnt to grandstand preach and react irriationally out of emotion, which is exactly what she did.

The blue part is pretty subjective.

What if chad farted? Should he go to jail cause the crowd laughed? Nowhere did i say what Chad did was ok btw, but in no way should have influenced his sentencing. Im sorry but you you holding him responsible for others actions is laughable.

So you would blame the bullet rather than the person who fired it... the two examples correlate...

HE IS RESPONSIBLE BECAUSE HE CAUSED THE LAUGHTER. I don't understand why that notion is so hard for you to grasp. It is like talking to a brick wall...

How about this... next time you are in court... test your theories and see if the Judge feels the same way you do? What? You aren't that stupid? Well Chad was.

Thats the dumbest thing ever posted. I have complete and total control over the bullet as the bullet isnt ya know alive. Those people had total and complete control over their reaction they chose to laugh Chad didnt force them to.
