Strategy Batgirl Pressure and Mixup thread.

So what do I do against someone who uses d1 alot against my pressure? I'm having trouble starting something after they block the vortex since she has alot of startup on her moves and slight disadvantage.
 
Once the vortex is blocked you dont get any pressure unless you ended it with Redemption and even then your fastest move is a high which is duckable. I would back dash after a b12 or after any Redemption and they cannot poke you out. Redemption, 1 is technically a frame trap as it will trade or beat other 6f moves/specials but Im not sure how dependable it will be with people doing d1s since the 1 is duckable.

Just a side note on b2u3, although it is -7 so far Batman is the only one so far that can actually punish it. I havent tested everyone but some characters have too short of limbs to reach ie Catwoman.

Aquaman can punish it too.

Who you using vs Aquaman? I tried everything in the world and just couldnt break him, Im thinking of picking up Nightwing on the side.

Black Adam is still my main-ish, but I've been playing more Batgirl than him lately. They cover a lot of bad matchups for each other, so I'd say he's a pretty good secondary...I feel the Aquaman and Superman matchups are both in his favor and those are two of Batgirl's worst. Nightwing also sounds good.

Why is superman a bad matchup for batgirl? He can't air dash or air laser without eating a smoke bomb.
i might be playing it wrong, but i think batgirl really can't deal with the whole f23/ice breath craziness due to her slow normals and high-risk reversal move (flying bat).

How about pushblock and backdash. I don't know enough about the matchup haven't played enough against good supermen

in general her neutral game and damage are vastly inferior to superman's. i think backdash b12 is pretty decent for batgirl but superman can read and punish it for way more damage than batgirl could do if she guessed correctly. i'm not too sure if pushblock would make a difference though.
 
Pushblock, MB Launch, and Flying Bat. Those are her options vs Superman f23~super breath loops, its a very read oriented fight as FB will ALWAYS blow up f23~super breath loops, but of course if SM baits it you are getting punished. lol. Back dash is too slow.

If only we could MB Flying Bat on block to make it safe. :p

Jer i havnt seen this mentioned (sorry if it has) but for another way for setting up her 50/50s is off blocked jump 3,
block stun is stupid and you can do pretty much anything of it,
it says +10 in the frame data,guess thats wrong :)

The frame data is counting the move's entire recovery, but for jump attacks, you recover as soon as you hit the ground. So J3 has 21F of blockstun, but if you hit the ground within 6F, you'll have 15F remaining for a free chance at the vortex. From my testing, it seems like you have a lot of time, just hit them below the apex of your jump and it'll work.

J1 frame data is definitely wrong though.

So J3 has 21F of blockstun, but if you hit the ground within 6F, you'll have 15F remaining for a free chance at the vortex. From my testing, it seems like you have a lot of time, just hit them below the apex of your jump and it'll work.

J1 frame data is definitely wrong though.

what formula u use to get the blockstun? startup - recovery?

yea another bit of frame data that is VERY wrong is bat evade~3,
its not -15, its -6 if done as early as possible, less than that if done higher in jump

I'm having serious trouble against aquaman. I just can't get in and when I do he activates trait and ruins my strings. What am I doing wrong?

Hope he doesn't trait before the second hit of a launcher then use b3 f3 after bola if he's traited I guess
 
Dealing with Aquaman Trait:
It doesn't work on Juggle combos... so after Bola if trait is up you can just do B3, J3 combos.

Or just do a super deep J2 straight into the 50/50.

Matchup still kinda sucks.

unfortunately doing a j2 after bola into 50/50 still won't work as aquaman's trait will last long enough for him to be able to block the second hit of b12 and b2u3 (assuming he activates it only after he gets hit by bola).

also, shouldn't aquaman be able to block b3 after bola if he activates trait upon getting hit by bola?

i really am not a fan of this match-up.
