Has anybody else noticed an improvement in the online since the patch? I've been consistently hitting d3, 3, ES MB, d2, b3, j2, 3, venom 38% all the time today. It's not not helping me getting rematches in player matches, but it's fun.

I can barely hit that in training mode let alone online haha.

If that combo is a little difficult for you, and you want to spend one bar for good mid screen damage, you can do

jd3, 1,2,3 venom MB for 35%. you need to meter burn the venom once the venom hits, so you get two hits with your venom, this bumps the damage by 8% over-all.

Additionally there's a small window of opportunity after the first Venom hit to wait for the MB in order to carry the guy further after the second hit, easily half of the stage.

That is a good point. I think you are right and the 1,2,3 venom MB combo may carry farther than ES MB combo with a venom at the end even with the wall bounce, unless you tag a Venom MB at the end for 2 bars of meter.

I always feel dumb when I spend a bar for MB Venom off hit when I should just save it for when the opponent inevitably runs away during the match

I just need to practice landing the b3 in the combo you posted, once i've done that i'll be golden. The jd3 1,2,3 venom MB is okay, although there is no mixup if they block the first hit. Obviously if you are good and can hit confirm on the fly really well then you can adjust and adapt, but if you can't, ES combos at least put some mixup in there, give you a knockdown, are safe, and build meter.

where do i go to find out all the best info when starting out? (ie: bnb's, meterless combos, punish combos, matchup info)

i'm not a fighting game scrub - just new to inj!

I know there is a gap in it where the opponent can act, but are there some characters who can't get out of it for some reason or another?

I got a question for you DD players.. Whats preventing you from traiting up at the beginning of a round and attempting to build as much meter as possible then locking down your opponent with meter based attacks while your trait recharges and just repeating this process? I only ask because DD is probably one of my favorite character but seems so limited.

To trait at the start of the round gives the opponent a full second or so to attack
the fist attack gives meter which is a reward that I'd prefer if I won it.

I shouldnt have phrased it that way as Im just wondering about the strategy in general of using your meter to lock down then trait to rebuild that meter then locking down again, etc.. I just dont know how fast DD can build meter while his trait is active.

Meter gain is pretty lackluster for Doomsday unless your opponent can block Earth Shake. A blocked Venom does build decent meter gain, which I like to do when I am traited.

Honestly I trait up as soon as I knock the opponent in to the corner to avoid wakeup attacks or MB interactables. I've also decided to forget about MB shoulder when trait is up since we lose armor on the 2nd hit

Thoughts on Doomsday after month 1 from thinking about my own play and watching other doomsdays. I'll cut right to it.

d1 Es- continue to use heavily. yes people may start blocking it more, but when they do, it's time for a sweep or a throw. i don't think the day of people very consistently blocking this is ever gonna happen if you are mixing it up enough.

33- less of this after a confirmed ji d3 if you are not trying to drive your opp to the corner with it. 123 does work properly now as does 3 Es, which sets you up close enough for a d1 Es at pretty much max range.

bigger combos-especially against zoners. i'm trying to find a balance of using meter for combos and his mb moves.

more trait- if you're activating once or twice in a match, you're not doing it enough. characters can stay pretty slippery when you have it activated so be ready to punish and aa. sometimes, go ahead and just flat out turtle til trait regenerates if that's what you gotta do.

read backdashes and punish accordingly, or dash up and throw with reckless abandon lol.

don't forget about f23

don't get too predictable with your offensive timing so people won't start mb b3'ing you.

j2- hard to use on grounded opps. i wish i could use it more, since the frame data says it's +25 on block. working on setups and uses for it other than air to airs.

I agree, especially about using 123 venom after a confirmed hit with Ji d3. It does more damage and pushes them to the corner just as easily. I also have been slipping in more MB ES combo's for higher damage combo's, especially for big punishes such as after blocking Batgirl's smoke bomb

right now, Doomsday is using his meter for free get ins, either MB supernova, or MB Venom, but I think we need to start optimizing our combo's to stay competitive.

I participated @ WNF this last week and didn't see any other DDs besides me!

Well... I Think? I did you guys proud, for what little amount I honestly play, I took home 9th place and made a good number of players very angry!
I think that's a win for Doomsday :)
