Hates NRS for making me not like Superman
I've been thinking a little bit about the Superman matchup. His trait in particular. Supposedly, Supes' trait completely nullifies our own in the matchup by breaking through the armor, so I think most Supermen try to wait till our armor is popped and save their own traits. However, I think this strategy actually favors Doomsday. The thing about using it on reaction is that you are basically giving Doomsday a free opening that says 'Feel free to attack with whatever', specifically a MB Venom. If MB Venom is in play, that means that Superman has given Doomsday full reign to do what have you, and Superman's capacity to break your armor has been severely nullified. Opinions?

So i found an incredibly fucked up, MB Up venom crossup situation but it gets screwed up by tech rolling. Not sure if i should post.

Just PM it to all the Doomsday players so we know about it but don't post it on the forums so nobody knows how to fight it until we start doing it?

MB Up Venom Crossup setups can be blocked by holding down. I've stopped using the meter for something they can just block down and full combo punish afterwards

Yeah just tested it...it hits mid:confused:

Why would they add a move like that if it's not overhead...i made my tech thinking it was overhead man wtf.

Either way it went like this...

Splash,3~MB Ground Shake 23d1~MB Up venom. The MB up venom in this situation is almost a 50-5o crossup sometimes it crosses sometimes it doesn't, leaving you with the pop up for a combo, set up a knockdown for pressure or to continue the Up venom loop until you're out of meter. 4 bars and for bad guesses from your opponent = a bit more than 90% total.

You could tech roll it and block to prevent the cross up or now with what you said just duck it. I also like to do it off of an F3...f3 23d1 mb up venom and so on.

This will be a buff i'll be appealing to NRS...it's not even a buff it should be overhead rye???

Perhaps use MB Upward Venom as anti zoning to dodge obvious fireballs etc? Upward Venom does cover a nice area, and MB Venom has a nice hitbox I think.

As for buffing Upward Venom, I agree it should be buffed, since Venom and Air Grab basically do it's job better. Perhaps they could reduce the recovery frames on it so it's able to be comboable again. Maybe turn MB into a Groundbounce or something? Not enough of a bounce to be used in combos, but enough to use if you catch them raw.

I've been trying to get some decent combos going with DDay, but it seems like a lot his specials can only be done when cancelling from the middle of the combo. What I mean is that most characters can complete a 123 and throw in a special to continue, but most of Doom's combos do not let you do this. You have to cancel if you want the special to be recognized at all, or you have to cancel into a bounce if you want to extend for another 2 hits.

I have also noticed that cancelling into a venom charge rarely connects, the charge seems to completely miss unless meter is used.

Most characters have issues like this, where the strings final move is not special cancelable.

Also, combos? Doomsday? What is this madness and what does it have to do with winning by MB Venom and c1~EarthShake?

Oh shit my bad had 3S on the brain I guess. I meant that d2 is going to be a better anti-air across the board for all characters with new patch

We don't even know how uppercuts are being improved though, it might not affect Doomsday's oki game THAT much.

Plus, Doom to all > uppercut.

And as far as buffing Doomsday, keep in mind that I think Netherrealm is making sure to treat their patches with kid gloves since Evo is coming up soon. We might see larger changes later on.

Universal d2 buffs might actually end up being a net buff for Doomsday. Sure, it's going to be easier for opponents to anti-air splash. On the flip side, Doomsday might finally get a solid anti-air that doesn't switch sides. His corner game would be even scarier...

Talking about MB Venom.... what kind of armor do MB Venom has? 1 hit? more? the full animation? and proyectiles? and MB Upward Venom?

Hahaha good stuff.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that you actually can connect venom after a successful 123. I'd post the other "combos" I've been using, but I'm fairly sure the rest of you already know them.

I'm sure this is probably known already, but if you're not picking rooftop with this guy you're nuts. Every time an opponent goes for a drone you can reaction MB Meteor Smash and completely avoid the interactable while still getting a hard knockdown. Even if you reaction without a bar you avoid it completely and they can't punish you due to recovery from the interactable in most situations. Plus if you do a combo and immediately follow up with interactable you build up a whole bunch of momentum. Not to mention it can also help you get in against zoners if you're lucky. And with trait on you only take like 11% from the interactables if hit, and still get a full combo punish.

I dunno, I still like Arkham Hall myself. Too many people also make great use of the sattelites there and if the stage transitions for some reason, the next area in Arkham is still a good interractable stage. But more importantly, TVs and Flowers aren't getting nerfed Tuesday.
