Can someone explain why Adam is so bad? I have almost no problem using air guns to shut out dive kicks. I just sit at 3/4 screen and on every close knockdown I hit him with the 50/50.

Is anyone else struggling badly with the Batman matchup? At long range, he seems to compete well enough with guns by using trait bats, batarangs, and grappling hooks, and a single mistake by DS leads to a 30-40% combo and a nasty mixup. Up close, Batman just has better moves flat out. Faster startup, better range, a plethora of high/low options in strings, and everything leads into a big combo, knockdown, and another mixup.

How do you guys play this match?

I am fairly sure that if done fast enough, Black Adam can crouch standing or aerial gun shots and punish with black magic. You have to use low gun shots to keep control, but then the Black Adam player will start dive kicking.

Speaking of the dive kick, the move is surprisingly very safe. You do not even have to hit the opponent's legs like you had to with Cyber Sub Zero. As long as you hit the belly, Deathstroke cannot punish with sword flip, or anything else.

Batman is definitely one of Deathstroke's difficult match up. He can approach easier than other characters can because of the trait.

I thought he was bad until I played Gruntypants. Air Guns work against your average player, but it's going to be hard to predict when a good BA is going to go for footdive. Overall, I have absolutely no idea how to approach this fight now.

so far from my experience, DS has trouble with rushdown characters. DS likes a distance game where as someone like doomsday likes an uplclose game. Im thinking the doomsday matchup is a 6/4 to doomsday. It might be to early, but i think that is close to what its going to be..

I lose to multiple gun attack when i try to fireball and i lose the gun fight when i try to jump and EX fireball. I feel like I just have to crouch the whole time because I can't zipline to get in close because Ill eat bullets plus he will just do the flip sword bull shit and run away and repeat the zoning strat and I've been losing to this match up a lot. someone please help with advice.

Anyone have much experience with the Nightwing MU? His staff Ground Blast attacks seems to act like a frame trap, where Deathstroke doesn't have enough time to get off a gunshot after he's blocked one. In practice, I've recorded the computer spamming them, and with even a minor amount of mix-ups (MB and slight delays), I'm actually getting outzoned.

I fought Pig Of The Hut's nightwing last night, and had no idea how to approach the fight. It doesn't seem like those Ground Blasts should be a huge deal, but because of their frame advantage and Deathstroke's linear zoning, I can't seem to find an answer to them, much less Nightwing's up-close game.

The frame trap aspect is infuriating. If you block one and input a gunshot command, nothing happens. If you delay the command, you can get a gunshot to come out, but if Nightwing is spamming, he'll interrupt your gunshot. He'll eat 1 bullet for 3% damage and you'll eat a Ground Blast for 5%. My Deathstroke is straight-up getting outzoned by pre-recorded Nightwing spam...

Air gunshots work really well vs Nightwing from my experience.

Trying to perfect instant air ones is a bitch though.

I can say DS vs CW is 6-4 in his favor.. He doesnt need to fear taking risks as much as catwoman.(Even when shes in a life lead). The Clash factor never favors her here neither.. If she wins then she waste's valuable meter.. If she loses, shes back across the map back to square 1.

Its a uphill battle but she has her options.

I think I've got the NW match figured out, at least from a zoning perspective. If you jump or otherwise avoid a Ground Blast, you can connect a gunshot. Once you do land a gun-shot, you can continue to spam those because they apparently beat out the start-up of Ground Blast. It appears to be a heavily momentum-influenced battle. Just remember that if you do block a Ground Blast, you don't really have any options except to jump or continue blocking. Smart meter usage by the Nightwing player can make this a nightmare, though.

As far as the upclose game, I'm still not sure. Nightwing's wakeup attacks are multi-hitting, so trying to armor-rush him on wakeup isn't going to work. Probably best to just try to zone him out. I could easily see this as a 5/5.

Try blocking first hit and back dashing or forward dashing before second hit comes out

I think we should make different threads for every matchup or add the info we have so far to the spoilers.

On Dustloop we have an entire section of character matches where every matchup is a thread.

I'll go ahead and re-post this here. Pig of the Hut and I got in a few hours of DS vs Sinestro the other night, and this is what I got out of it:

---

First off, if I could ever get my low-shots to count as a reversal after blocking a boulder, they would always connect. I started saving my meter for blocked boulders because I knew that would be a free 11% damage. I would say Sinestro just should never use boulder in this MU, but without it you have nothing to prevent me from getting into optimal range, which brings me to my next discovery...

[Edit] I highly recommend going into practice mode with Sinestro set to always block and Boulder reversal. Shoot him from full screen to get him to use boulder on you. Practice getting your gunshots to count as a true reversal ("Reversal" will appear on your side of the screen). If done right, you won't even have to counter Boulder with low-shot; your regular shot will connect before Sinestro can block or duck).

Sinestro's Fear Blast can be ducked from around midscreen and closer. As long as you didn't have meter, I knew I could dash/jump my way into that distance and unload low-shots freely. They seemed to beat out the start-up on boulder, so I could literally just spam them without fear of repercussion.

I also discovered that MB Fear Blast was kind of a frame trap, which is why I always continued to block whether it connected or not. You seemed to catch on and stopped burning all your meter on back-to-back MB Fear Blasts, mixing up standard and MB versions to keep me out. I knew if you didn't have meter, I could get into that optimal range mentioned above.

One thing I didn't really get to explore extensively was backdashing your attacks. I believe I managed to backdash a few boulders, but now that I know a blocked boulder is a free hit, I'm not sure it's worth it. I can backdash Cyborg's shots, so I'm sure it's possible to backdash Fear Blast, though I'm also sure it would be incredibly inconsistent.

Long story short, the Deathstroke/Sinestro MU seems to come down to who can take the life lead. Once one of them has to work their way in, the match is basically over, save for a lucky break or two. They seem to be roughly equally matched when it comes to zoning, with Sinestro maybe having a noticeable advantage. Overall, I've got to say this MU is a 5/5

---

And that's it. Basically just be patient and try to work your way into the range where you can duck his fear blasts. Always dash, because boulder can punish jumps. If he has no meter, you can safely jump over fear blast, just don't jump while he's not doing anything or he can boulder on reaction. Every boulder should yield a gunshot reversal, every normal FB should yield a gap decrease (unless you have the life-lead or are within ducking distance), and every MB FB should yield continued blocking. Hope that helps!

Once Sinestro has Trait, there is NOTHING Deathstroke can do without taking risks. His normals also have better range.
His melee moves are kinda sluggish in exchange for the range. And a good Deathstroke would probably shoot Sinestro if he ever tried using his trait. Considering Sinestro can't even cancel his trait, by the time he's charged it, DS will have chunked a huge portion of his bar.

Deathstroke up close has a ton of 50/50 mixups, good combo damage, and frame traps.

His strings are average speed, and every combo leads to a free charge. Also, Sinestro can occasionally trade a gunshot with shackles and get some free charge time. Sinestro can also get in if he needs to because he has a great forward dash and can force Deathstroke to guess on jump ins with his air axe. I will also add that I have yet to be purely outzoned by any deahtstroke. The trades are even or in Sinestro's favor when he MB's.

My first match against sinestro was aginst woundcowboy.I have to say its a battle of patience, spacing and mind games. At the time I didn't know the MU well but still did pretty decent. With the right timing and range.I believe you can punish Fear Blast with low shots for free damage every time....I could be wrong since I still need more exp in that MU.Who would you say has a better upclose game? WoundCowboy karaokelove Pig Of The Hut

From my experience, DS has the better up-close game, but I haven't really messed around with Sinestro much. If I remember correctly, the best DS can hope for after a blocked FB is a trade unless he's midscreen or closer.
