If no one wins the gift card by chance, the player who ranks closest to a cash payout will get it.
Ththuvhul, You may want to reconsider this. Currently, 4th place pays out at 10% which is $25. We would essentially be rewarding a lower placement with a higher payout.

Str8Magnificent, Mike is right. If you are expecting both players to have 3 green bars for every match in this tournament, you won't be playing many matches, I fear. Most of the time 2 yellow bars for both players is sufficient enough to get by.

I was kidding, but I have a very possible outcome in mind. I would need some very good odds to make a bet.
Not if I place the bet first :p

You know, I'm wondering if somebody is going to be ballsy enough to try and tackle Smoke in this tournament. I'll laugh so hard if they end up pulling it off and failing. :D

LOL I like my chances better facing Caldwell than cheaty ass Smoke in lag!!

3 Bars on MKAK happens for about 1% of matches. Basically only if you're playing someone in the same State as you.
1 Bar is usually unplayable, though the guys in Europe STILL want to play anyway

Just pray that the servers have a good night on April 6th. Last night they were awful, and wouldn't even let people create lobbies for about an hour.

Also, if you're online via stealing your neighbor's internet, then you probably will want to skip this tournament. All the guys I play who tell me they steal internet, have terrible connections.

Yes. I know you were kidding. Who here is good at statistics and could give general odds of winning the card using 19 players?
19 players
12 characters
9 stages
...........................
Put it this way. Assuming you make a random selection, the percentage is so small that it's basically 0.

Lol. Maybe we should start voting who wins now then.
Anyone in the know, though, is likely to narrow it down to a select group of players; significantly increasing their odds. Assuming I don't place top 4, I've already got my pick in mind.

If my math is right, there could be 108 different votes for a player, and 2052 total unique votes. what levels would people guess? i have a few ideas.....maybe we shouldnt talk though.

Smoke is pretty easy with Cage or Baraka. 4 me anyway. and on og. speed prob makes Smoky pretty tough on mkak.
When the computer gets harder, they just walk up to his blade fury, block and punish.
I haven't fought Smoke enough honestly. He just runs and throws me out of everything when I do except when I have Mileena.

If you use Baraka, you can't rely on blade fury by itself. It's a 50/50 chance that it will land or get blocked and spear, uppercut punished. You have to mix in JKs, too.

Easiest way to beat smoke is to jump kick at him. He will block it and then try to spear you. You can block his spear and then punish. Easier way to explain is jump kick at him: he blocks and tries to spear you: you block the spear: punish.

Make sense? Works with pretty much all characters, but he doesn't ALWAYS do this. It's just a strategy.
