MK11 Kabal = MK9 Kitana
Kitana can't move in with f2 because of spin and she can't toss fans because of dash
It's a text book 5 - 5
She can't toss fans? Yeah ok.

Ok, so I throw a fan and you hit me with ex blade charge... I take 12% and you take 8%. Now you are one bar down. Are you really going to blow your meter for this and be without breaker when I get a chance to hit you with 50%? Not a good trade if you ask me.

The ex blade charge should only be used sparingly or to close out a round.

I will throw fans at you all day because somewhere in that 90 second round, you will be hit with a 50% combo.

5-5... lol

I would like to give you some advice, seeing as you seemed to sort of be lost in the video. Now tetra is on point in a lot of his game, so im not saying he couldnt of one even if you knew the matchup, but you could of made it more competitive.

Kitana: You have to play so much lamer. Sit back, throw fans and ass out. I know he saw this and blade charged you to put you next to him, but you have to look at the benefits:
More meter
Chip damage
Not in the corner

You need to zone a whole lot more. Kitana's rushdown is good but is still riskier than zoning. She can hang with him in footsies, but ill be completely honest, Tetra has you beat in that department. I disagree with GamerBlake90 regarding F21 punish. 21 lift cannot punish a max ranged blade charge and is full combo punished. At any range you can f2 and at least keep Baraka in check.

My best advice is to zone more. Tetra's smart and he wont let you get away with it for the whole match, but you need to do it more than rushdown(Especially with lifelead).

Sonya: This one showed you didnt know the matchup. What is funny is in this one you actually tried to zone, but should have been doing the opposite. Sonya can check him with d4 MS cancels, she has armor in case he frametraps her, and has much better damage. She can zone him but why would you? Sonya beats him up close and makes it much harder for him. Any blade charge blocked means an automatic d4. The thing you didnt seem to understand is with meter, he cannot rush you down. He cant frametrap or slices cancel because armor blows through all of that. You needed to rushdown more and zone less.

But overall it still wasnt a bad showing, it would just help if you knew the matchup/approached it somewhat differently.

Mid Tier
Khaotik showed he's still a Boss in the Tag tourny going toe to toe with Reo's Kabal, that shit was sick, really the only team to give them some trouble from what I watched,

You'll bounce back man, lesson to be learned is don't sleep on anyone at these thing, games old enough where everyone there is good,

Im convinced baraka is better than NW. what good is reflect anyways?

Baraka blade charge must be blocked and his frame traps are really good. Plus a mid starter and a low starter. haha Man what did I ever see in NW.
Ive said this for months.

Just saying....

(I still see him right outside the bottom five)

Owerbart

I miss you
Man NW is shitty...but let me just add:

skarlet beats the shit out of both of them...haha
I miss those days when you were The Chief and repped NW everywhere.

Now, on the thread: Maybe you guys are trying to justify this loss on Kitana errors, but man, Tetra played it superb. His spacing was fantastic, and he really used every resource Raka has. TheTetraSpirit who knocked you out in losers?

On the other side, xKhaoTikx don't be too hard on yourself, you can't expect to always place well. Take this tourneys as a way to get over those nerves (I know it's hard) and eventually you'll get out on top.

Yea me too...the days of my stupidity have ended though. sorry man. I still use him but I use him with a new realization of his quality.

Mannnnnn lol.

I have to get this off my chest because I'm actually getting a Tad bit emo now lol. NEC was my second major I've ever attended, ECT being the first, which was back in the summer, so I'm not used to this whole tourney thing. After being sent to losers by riu, I was severely mind fucked. So many emotions and thoughts were effecting me. Even tho I've only been to one other major outside NEC, and a few locals out in VA, I'm used to placing top4, so when I got to losers in pools so quickly, I panicked, and the only thing I could think about was making it out of pool. I won my next two matches with ease, and my next opponent was tetra. I slept on him hard, and paid the price for it. After losing with kitana, I panicked heavily and the only thing I could think about was armor, hence why I went to Sonya. Bad idea on my part.

I'm not used to this whole tournament thing yet. I'm still a online player at heart lol. Me being nervous, being in losers, the hype I had to live up to, being recorded, being watched, etc, all of those factors took a toll on me and sent me into a crazy mindfuck. I'm sure with more tournies I attend in the future, I can learn to not let those factors affect me so much.

With that being said, I know I let a lot of people down, and I apologize. I just simply ask for you guys to not give up on me just yet. Yes, I fucked up, but try to understand where I'm coming from. Idk which tournament I'm going to next, but its either going to be FR or WB. All I ask is for you guys to give me one more chance to live up to the hype. I PROMISE I wont let you down.
Haivng played you plenty of times online,

Atleast I think it was you lol.

I could see that "mindfuck" you were talking about. Before reading this post, I saw you overthinking everything. And I think you kept getting hung up on making the wrong move, and trying to read something in the past. I mean it's good to catch patterns. But I'm not gonna act like I can read your mind, it was just a vibe I got from watching that set.

Not to discredit that barakka, he was really good. and deserved his win.

I'm just saying, while watching that match I could physically see your mental torment, and hesitation on pulling the trigger on comitted decisions.

If you play to have fun, you'll lose the tourney nerves.

I know that isn't easy, but when you are trying to live up to "hype" and not "let people down" that can kill your nerves.

In super smash bros melee, I do alot worse when my teamates are better than me in teams/crews. Because I don't want to let them down by going down hard. So I play worse by overthinking things.

So as Konqrr said, don't set any expectations. Just show up and play/have fun.

Man, Tetra really got under your skin. You did better than I would've by a long shot though. Dictionary definition of footsies Baraka.

No you wont.
It worked for me so yes it does?

You become nervous because you feel like you got something to lose.

whether it's respect/money/ect ect.

If you can play just for fun like you do in casuals. Your nerves go away.

like i said it's not easy. But having been to over 50 tournaments in my life time. The more you put on the line, the harder it is to get over nerves.

Just playing alot can get you over them too. But they still come back anytime you let yourself strongly worry about the outcome of the match. and let your mind get caught up on previous mistakes.

It depends on the person though. Like I expect to go 0-2 at every tourney, but that doesnt mean I dont get nervous or dont try.

I'm not saying don't try, and I'm not saying it's simple.

I just said it's not easy.

But you're still getting nervouse because you are worried about a loss right? (For whatever reason)

once I got over worrying about a loss, which took me about 6 tournaments to realize that losing is just a learning experience. I started having more fun playing when I had no outside expectations from people on results.

I obviously still try to win, you just need to get over the effects a loss can have on your self-esteem.

I played a low tier in Melee for a long time, she was probably shittier than barakka in this game. I also expected to lose to everyone. but the difference is....

I am at the moment able to gain a different perspective on a loss in tournament. You haven't gained that perspective yet. you might understand it, but you haven't fully embraced it.

anyways this is derailing,

my point, was on khaotik's mental meltdown, too much entered the brain at once, and he became conflicted. From the looks of it he had something to prove, and the "possibility" of losing really early and not being able to prove it was eating at him and making him play worse because he couldn't focus.
