Hello everybody. So this is a thread to talk, as well as introduce people to the most famous and most played around the world TCG, Magic The Gathering. For anyone interested in learning the game, PM me or ask here for advice.

-This section is reserved for rules, slang, basic history of the game, overviews on the different sets-

I'm going to edit his post with several info in a couple of hours.

i love magic and will body anyone in magic the gathering online on xbox. bring it bitches. also MAGIC IS THE SHIT!!!!

The xbla and online psn versions are kinda weak tbh. Some of the decks are o.p as fuck. I wish they would take the approach the actual pc online game is where you can buy decks, cards, etc and build a deck exactly how you want.

Everyone on my floor in college plays Magic so I bought a Goblin deck and it's fun when I'm able to pull off Krenko's effect and get like 20 goblin tokens on the field lol. I'm not really into Magic though. I just bought a deck so I could play with everyone.

Storm combo motha fuckas!
Nice to see a TES deck. I also play combo storm in legacy, the Spanish Inquisition, pact variation. Although speedy, I don't run any protection like duress or silence. Have you tried Cabal Therapy instead of Duress? Most of the time you know which counterspell to target (FoW, Mindbreak Trap) Also, I use chrome moxes in my list instead of mox diamonds, but I'm aware that in TES decks they function quite well.

I've been playing on and off for the past 15 years. I play mostly standard these days, since my local FNM is free entry with a free booster for everyone who enters and everyone is really chill.
I play limited when I can (and when I have the money). I won my store's Return to Ravnica prerelease this past weekend without dropping a single game and got a ton of stuff. It was a lot of fun.

Free boosters? You sir live in damn heaven. I haven't the chance to get Sealed on Ravnica, although some of my friends did. Personaly I was hoping for more in this block, but I'd still play limited. Which guild have you picked? They say Azorius has an edge.

I picked Golgari and just ran a straight up Golgari deck with no splash. Of the three of my friends that also made top 8, 2 of them were running Azorius and the other was running Izzit; not sure about the rest of the top 8. I never got a chance to play against an Azorious player during the tournament so I don't know how my deck would fare against them, though I imagine they have the potential for a great card pool.

Never thought that Izzet may reach top8, or even win a game... it looks so eccentric and so combo wannabe. Any chance you can get us his decklist?

My mono black vampire deck (Modern)

http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/rondo-of-blood/

Currently saving $ to convert it to Red/Black Vamps
Good thing about modern format is that it's a non rotative set, so once you have your deck, you don't have to worry if it gets obsolete. Just as a suggestion, try to balance your discard and your creature removal according to your meta.

About BR vamps, I hear it's better, but personally I never faced one.

Keep us informed about how the deck goes!

Which format do they play? good thing about Goblins is that you can get the deck to the next level without too much cash.
From what you tell us, probably they play some kind of casual legacy, probably the best way to have fun. If you want to kick some ass or get Krenko really quick, maybe you would like to have 4 of this fuckers in your deck: http://magiccards.info/us/en/190.html

Other goblins that you may consider are:

Siege-Gang Commander (So rape when you sneak him in with the lackey)
Goblin Matron (Goblin Tutor)
Goblin Piledriver (A motherfucking beast)
Goblin Chieftain (Makes your goblins tougher)
Goblin Warchief (Makes them cheaper)
Goblin Granade (Excellent finisher)

But believe me, Goblin Lackey gives this deck turbospeed, therefore making it a Tier A in Legacy.

I want to learn how to play this. Is there some sort of online tutorial? or video game thing that I can play on my own?

in other news, I got a couple decks of a Killer Instinct TCG. There used to be this awesome skateboarding themed one called Skateboarding Must Die.

I NEED AN MK TGC

There's a series of videos and a "demo" available on the website HERE.
There's also Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 available on Steam, XBLA, and PSN. I've never played it, but I'm sure it does more than a competent job at explaining the rules.
Also, there was apparently a Mortal Kombat card game released in 1994: link.
