Yep, for sure. The move is active a good deal longer than it'd appear...well into where it starts to slow down. Pushback and the active frame where it's safe is just enough. And from full screen, EX charge is 100% safe as well.

It's strange, but the matchup is hard to put in Reptile's favor. EX charge is literally the easiest armor attack to hit an opponent with. And in close, Baraka completely outspeeds Reptile in poking. He is vulnerable to low hitboxes on his 221+2 string, though. Also, Baraka's backdash is basically the backdash version of Reptile's backwalk. Backdash > charge is BS, even for some of Reptile's stuff. Though Baraka can f44, f4 Reptile on a blocked dash, the damage sucks...so Reptile kinda gets off easy on blocked dash here.

from what point to what point is baraka's lunge unsafe on reptile? i'll be sure to try and stay within that space.

yeah very true, which is why I agree with it being 6 4. I have kenshi 6 4 for reasons and experiences vs pig/king's kenshis in tournament. I got stuff to do atm, but I'll tell you why when I'm done in the conversation we started on the weekend.

Thanks. I was really working on my aa 2 forceball. I've never been.consistent with it but I was really nailing it with you. Prob because we had a good connection.

It was decent but on my end I was having issues. I normally punish Reps dash all day with F3 but for whatever reason I couldnt get it to come out on time when we were playing.

5-5 when did i say that!!! I think reptile loses to skarlet still, both of their normals are ass and they both get in on eachother quick but skarley can stay out when she wants, and react to forceball with tele. L0rdoftheFLY

This. Skarlet also puts out far more damage on chip and hit. I have a hard time believing 5-5. 3-7 may be too far, but as I've said before it's at best 4-6 for reptile.

I had a talk with a couple of fellow tym'ers, one of which had sort of had the same problems I was having, and just decided dropping the character wasn't the best course of action.

i was just checking. cause THTB and MIT are saying its 5-5 and you agreed with their tier list.

OK my bad then. I agree 6-4 or 7-3 but not 5-5.

Reptile and Sektor are similar in that they dont have a win button (like the top tiers above do) but they are all around solid in many areas. Maybe it is your duty on this earth to blow up communities that have solid characters but cry for a win button?

Cyblax net can trade with any forceball that Cyrax net can, there is no trade zone Cyrax can cover that Cyblax cant. Cyblax damage isnt as high but its still ridiculous... circumstances in which Cyrax is able to win de round and Cyblax is not are VERY few. (Tho Cyrax has better unbreakable damage)

There is a noticeable difference between the bombs tho, Cyblax bombs are ass. 8 frames slower means its harder to time the standing 1 to AA bomb jumpers. They are almost useless against reptile. However, Reptile cannot full screen zone Cyblax like he does Cyrax because of the teleport. Cyblax teleport is a problem for Reptile in general because it can punish meterless forceballs with full combo. A lot of the forceballs Reptile can use on Cyrax he cannot use on Cyblax.

Id say it evens out 6-4. Not like it cant be a 5-5 like you said, but its definitely fun to discuss odd matchups :)

You have to react to it being a bomb, yea dashing into nets will end it but your going to have to play off reaction, once he throws a bomb you can dash in for free, if it's a close bomb dash in and jump back, or ex slide/dash

This is beast. Reptiles seem so accustomed to force their frantic pace that they seem unable to play off reaction soemtimes. Having a tool that is good enough for you to react to your opponents tools is actually an awesome thing! Listen to Showtime, MIT and THTB and slow down enough to think Reptile community!

lets not kid ourselves i really disagree on mileena being an even matchup. not to call anyone out but look at showtime vs pig of the hut at the last mlg.. not pretty and tbh same thing would have ha penned to me

That's not true, it's a matter of who's special comes out last will out-prioritize the other. If you dash the roll, it will hit. If you dash before the roll, then the roll will hit.
