How can Mk12 be better than Mk11?

So, I would like to say what I think;
I don't think this many people would be complaining about the Variation system itself if the Custom Variation system were allowed in this game without any restrictions in all modes, or at least the marketing should have been done accurately, so no one would get disappointed in the end. The base roster can be extended a bit (with 5-8 more characters), and the mentality of keeping the game alive shouldn't consist of just releasing characters on a much later date. If they invented the variation system, I believe they can come up with more excellent ideas to keep the game's longevity for much more. The player base in many game categories is attracted by the visuals and details so much, therefore the customization system can be much better extensive in the next installment. The game announcer's changeability is a very good detail, personally I like it a lot. The story mode had a lot of plotholes this time, so I definitely believe they can come up with much better ideas about plotting of the new story ( To be honest, the Konquest mode like in MKD would make me MUCH happier, but anyway), the fan favorite modes in previous installments should be taken into consideration and they should be accessible online as well (such as Chess Kombat, Puzzle Kombat, etc.). If they still keep on planning to reveal new characters, I think they should design the characters who have never been playable in Mortal Kombat's own story, (such as Khrome, Hydro, Kia, Jataaka, etc.). Lastly give Tanya back please, tyvm.
 
People are too fixated on characters and forget about game balance, though.
Nobody would give a damn about Cetrion if she wasn't worth playing in some capacity.
Like "omfg I want Mileena to be in the game". Yeah, and what if she's trash? Most people will drop him, loyalists will feel horrible.

I'm at the point about mk11 where I wish Jade just wasn't in it. She's so bad that I feel sorry she exists like this.
I've played trash characters before. I honestly don't care. I pick the characters I like, plain and simple. If they suck, i'm okay with that. I noticed that my actual w/l ratio doesn't get as affected as i'd think. I had more or less the same win ratio with uttershit day 1 Frost than with Cetrion.

From what I remember you're a pretty solid player overall. I didn't mean you.

- its time to get rid of variations

- stop giving everyone zoning, teleport etc. and design characters more as fleshed out archetypes

- stop wanking over MK1-3 characters only and put in a good ratio of Trilogy, 3D Era and Next Gen characters

- stop creating new characters just for the sake of it

- better male/female ratio

- 1 or 2 guest characters for the entirety of the life of the game is enough. calm down

I see some people complaining about how many mk1-4characters there are in nrs titles. Have you guys not noticed creativity went wildly in the wrong direction after these games? Can you imagine kobra, mokap, meat, hsu hao or even Cetrion in mk2? Of course not... nrs forgot what makes mk mk.

When they make characters imo they should just imagine “could this ever exist in mk2-3?” Gay Asian thief shaolin monk reject with giant stick/bow and arrow/fireball shooting thing-weapon-wtfever. Oh btw it’s also kung Laos relative. Like wtf? Keep it simple and you have a winner. Asian thief with big stick - mk2 compatible.


Edit: definitely don’t have anything against the gay part it’s just too many things goin on at once. Flamboyantly gay man with bow and arrow would also be good. Lt. Dangle from Reno with a crossbow in pink short shorts. Insta main.

Honestly look at the last patch of mkx and work from there. When they started making all the mixups more reactable and fuzzyable the game became really good at the end of it's life but it sucks because when it became really good injustice 2 came out.

  • Make MK12 the first legacy game in the series based off mk11
  • Fix all hitbox and hurtbox issues
  • Instead of variations, literally just make it one special move that can be chosen
  • Fix all recovery frames to match all animations instead of weird block stun BS
  • Just like Injustice make jump kicks carry on animations with gravity same as jump punches
  • Do not be afraid to let characters do amazing damage as long as they work for it
  • Add command normals and command strings

Two big things I've been thinking recently.

What is with the fucking jump arks. People being too high to d2 right in your face in the air is so stupid. Get that swiftly in the bin, what is this trampoline Kombat. I think the weird new jump arcs are partly to blame for most of the cast not being able to enforce strings in minor plus frames against jumps.

The other issue is OKI, this new crap where you're invincible til you've stood up dusted yourself up and blown your nose is annoying. Mix that with slight and full delay wakeup, rolls, jumping forward, neutral jumping etc and it's this really hard to enforce your shit again. The characters who have the tools to do so are legit all top or high tier and the ones who don't arent.

All of this leads to this new horrible bullshit where everyone's trying to weasel out of everything like a honeybadger with rabies.

I can go half my games where the opponent will never block on wakeup unless they have no bar at like god/demi God rank.
