So after being a month into the game, overall, who do you think are some of Noob's best and worst MUs? Who's been giving y'all the most trouble? Etc.

Struggling with this character. What does Noob corner pressure look like? What can I stagger other than 22 to be tricky? Noob feels so honest on block lol

Also, where is madzin??? Does he not play fighting games anymore? I thought he loved this character :/
Noob is a character that requires a lot of patience to play. He is all about punishing the opponent, whether on whiff or on block. You have to condition your opponent to mess up and capitalize off of it.

His corner pressure will require the use of d3s and d4s, as both on hit land you advantage which can be followed up with either another d3/4, d1, throw, f2/f22, or 212. It will also involve proper spacing and the usage of f2,2,1,2 and b1,1+3. You must be careful as the 1+3 on blcok can be full comboed punished by Sub-Zero and punished with single moves by Johnny Cage, Kano (except max range), Jade, Cassie, and Jacqui Briggs. Use it wisely. 1,1,3 can be used, too; however, 3 on block leaves you at a disadvantage, so instead if you were to use 1,1 and they happen to block both end the string with 2 which is his only overhead. On block 1,1,2 is safe and pushes you back. It does have a gap (1,1,[gap] 2) and can be flawlessed blocked, but it pushes you back regardless so the u+2 wont reach you. Other than that, you have the universal empty jumps to bait wakeup attacks and short hop overheads. Hope this helps.

Madzin hasn't been around. No idea where he has been.

So I finally got around to trying to learn/play Noob as he is a favorite of mine but I have mainly been focused on Kotal. So I picked him up yesterday and practiced some more today. I have some basic bnbs mid screen and corner but they are definitely not optimized yet which I will continue to work on.

The real reason I am posting here is I am wondering what my game plan is as Noob. All those kombos won't do me any good if I never get a chance to actually use them lol

With Kotal I kind of know what I am supposed to be doing and how to approach my games, but tonight with my day 2 Noob I felt kind of lost. B2 was a good check/spacing tool, f4 also is ok but it seems unsafe. Teleport is nice when you get reads on fireballs and such but when it comes to neutral or when I am on the offensive I kind of don't know what to do.

Any tips/advice you guys can give me for really learning how to play this character?

My experiences so far:

- Projectile game - there are only a couple of characters that manage to outzone/outdamage when trading noob's ghostball. The fact that it deals 9% is actually pretty absurd as MB versions of most of the projectiles deal about 11%. It is a ridiculously good projectile until you can outzone/outdamage the opponent.

- B1, 1+3 specific matchups - if a character can't consistently PUNISH b1, 1+3 they automatically do much worse against noob. Unless someone is willing to take a risk and stuff anything noob does after an unpunished b1, 1+3 (which can only get you so far as it's going to work once maybe twice depending on the player's ability to adapt) it becomes a MONSTER of a string. I've played a couple of really decent cassies (st9rm, shura etc) and I think cassie - noob is a winning MU for noob just because cassie cannot punish b1, 1+3.

- B3 - Probably one of the best punishing moves in the game. You can punish about 99% of the fatal blows in the game with this beauty. B3 into MB teleport lands you a guaranteed fatal blow of your own for a punish. However not so strong in mid-screen/neutral. I don't use it too often because most of the times a player that has any game knowledge/noob MU knowledge will crouchblock anyways. It's -17 and can be cancelled into ghostball which makes it... eh .... safe'ish on max range. I don't think I landed B3, 1+3 krushing blow against a good player ever. Not reliable. Overall - amazing punish tool, good'ish' neutral tool.

- F2, F22 - An actual amazing spacing tool. However, it has hitbox/hurtbox issues. For example second 2 in F22 - which is supposed to be a mid BY THE WAY - totally whiffs on a crouchblocking cassie. Yeah.

I might write something more when it comes to mind. However to sum up:

Noob does great against characters that lose the projectile war damage-wise and characters that cannot consistently punish b1, 1+3.

He's solid. Global buffs as in hurtboxes/hitboxes/krushing blow requirements will make him even stronger.

Condition you oppone to whiff, then punish for 35-40% damage. B2 is a good check tool. D3/4/1 provide advantage on hit which allows us to take another turn afterwards. Standing 1 is 7 frames and if confirmed into 1,1,3 can lead into some devastating damage, so this makes it his best punishing string; however, sometimes certain punishable strings/moves require an quick dash to punish. That comes with much experience. Standing 1, standing 2, and forward 2 are high, so be careful not to be too predictable with them because anyone can land a crushing blow uppercut intonation full combo. Throw a lot, too and mix them up.

In the corner, utilize short hop overheads and neutral jump kick.

So I admittedly am only on day 3 with the character but I feel like my execution is just too bad to use him. I can't get any of the optimal stuff to save my life. Mainly the mid screen stuff. In the corner I am content with what I have down since I am hitting around or slightly above 40% for 1 bar but mid screen? I can't get the timing down on some of the higher damaging ones, especially the ones where you have to intentionally whiff the first hit of 113 :(

I choose not to use those combos myself. Not consistent enough for me. I drop it like 50% of the time. I do quite well using starter x enhanced tele x f3 x f2.2.1.2 for my bnb tho

Noob's saibot or noob saibot's?

Scratch that kombo i dunno why people go through the effort do loong dash 113 after amp tele into b1 1+3 its easier and does more damage

Just curious to those playing Noob; I've seen people talking about how he's a really strong character overall. However, I also see near universal agreement that he's in A tier. What MUs do you think people give Noob too much credit for (i.e. which ones are you struggling against now that you feel might be a reason for him being a bit lower down the list than some other characters)

Damn dude your the MVP! Thanks a ton for doing that for me, I really appreciate you going our of your way to show me and I can't stress that enough. Do you have any tips on getting the b1 1+3 at the end? Turns out this is a combo I was trying to do the past couple days but after countless attempts I just assumed the b1 didn't connect after the 113 and gave up on it but seeing that it actually can work I am ready to try again. If it helps any I noticed much of the time my Noob just wants to throw out a regular grab even though my inputs show I am inputting the b1 first

To see it visually u can do the 113 part then hold jump to see the window for your input also u can just do grounded reps off 113 and b1 1+3 to get the timing down . No worries dude 8)

It's actually alot harder because of the manual timing. Learning is valuable tho cause its the same deal after d2 kb

So thanks to your video I have actually been able to pull it off! Not consistently just yet but I landed it a handful of times today when before I hadn't gotten it a single time, so again, thanks dude!
