That‘s what it seems like. I think people let their expectations for this story get a little too high.

It is a fighting game after all. Not saying they can‘t have good stories, but generally you want the gameplay to be the strongest thing about it.

Well, not surprised really. As much as people shit on the PS2 era, I feel like MK will never be as bold or inventive with lore as it was back then.
It feels like they're too scared of taking risks.
At least the game will be awesome, lore aside.
