So I don't understand what's the deal with Shang Tsung's Island and Goro?

It's from another timeline where Kronika stole all of their souls? The monks, Goro and the Onis?

Kronika is looking for a crown on ST's Island. That's why they're there.

I know. What I wonder is why is Goro dead, why are everyone dead (and some of them are zombified lol)

After Shang Tsung's defeat I'm pretty sure Goro left the island and the monks wouldn't really have a reason to stay there. The way it's presented in the game is like some cataclysm affected the island while it was still active.

Sektor showed up as a fightable NPC, has at least two skins and a basic moveset (like Tanya in MKX)

I hate Triborg as a concept, it's incredibly cheap.

They now both are the new keepers of time
