I honestly never played a chick who said MK was easy to play. I think they like it the same reason guys do, it's a game they're into for whatever reason.

Mortal Kombat sells more than all other fighting games except Smash Bros.
They're both great games that appeal to millions of people.

More people, in general, will end up playing it.

It's not that mysterious, at all.

Indeed, in fact while I know some still debate that Smash shouldn't be considered a traditional FG and more of a party game. I can understand both arguments honestly but I digress, if not for Smash MK WOULD be the highest selling FG series. I'm happy though MK 11 is on everything this time, it'll definitely help the sales which I'm sure will already be great.

If you would like a real answer, a bunch have people already said it. You literally listed the two best selling by a far margin video games as the ones that "girls like more." It's just basic math. More people in general playing the game, there are gonna be more girls obviously playing these games. The question you should ask is why do PEOPLE like Mortal Kombat and Tekken over other fighting games?
