Edited the post, it's a usual DBF motion, he was just standing on the P2 side.

Ah okay, Personally I don't see the big deal about dbfs, you put in the practice for weird inputs and muscle memory takes care of it later.

With the addition of enhanced moves requiring another input instead of just R2 then it would make a lot of sense if they take out DBF inputs.

Imagine having to do like DBF then another quick D1 just to enhance a move that would be a bit ridiculous.

The latest build was confirmed to use R2 modifier again on the Kombat Kast because users complained about it.
