If Sindel is not part of the DLC characters while Jacqui is in the main roster NRS doesn't deserve a single $.

Meh, Personally i never found her to be exciting in like any aspects except maybe her high tech variation with her cancels but then again that variation was absolute ass and all people used was full auto in mkx.

I don't know how they're going to give her a complete overhaul in order to make her an eye-catching character aesthetically and with gameplay.

One thing I don't understand about a lot of Mortal Kombat fans (MK Twitter is just awful awful awful) is how 1 or 2 characters literally whip them into a frenzy. Do you like Mortal Kombat or not? If you really do, then I can't figure out how the lack of Sindel or Rain means you don't want to buy the game.

This game has Johnny Cage. Raiden. Sonya. Skarlet is coming back and looking awesome. Baraka is back. Noob is back and Ringwraithin' it up. Scorpion and Sub-Zero are here, of course. This is Mortal Kombat. What game were you expecting here?

The obsession with special forces is also quite weird. There's nobody left alive to defend Earthrealm besides Raiden and the special forces. Where did you think they were going to go on this? Moreover, SF characters are iconic, major pieces of MK. They are never going away.

I initially thought this was a horrible model, but after looking at this a bit, I think part of the problem is that terrible coloured armor. If it was black and grey or something I think she would look pretty good.

She was by far the most bland and uninspired new character in MKX, so hopefully they improve her in this one.

Instead of 4 gun humans, they could have gone with 3 Special Forces
- Cassie, the only gun user,
- Jacqui, with both the tech-buddies of Cassie and Sonya
- Johnny without weapons at all)

and 2 gods (Raiden and Fujin)

Add in Cyrax with his traps, nets and cybers-stuff for a 4th special forces character and maybe even a 5th in Kenshi with his telekinesis and spirit sword, instead of Sonya and Jax, (two parents + gun/tech users). and voila, a lot more people would be happy about the roster and less people would complain about the Special Forces, guns and that kind of shit. Without Jax in the same game, people would probably grow into Jacqui some more.

She looks alot better, and i am excited too see her play.

Also, this render likely hints she will be on the next kombat kast, question is if there will be a second character with her (Erron, Kotal, Dvorah) or just her.

Having said that, Johnny and Cassie's likes were spread between a lot of different Johnny and Cassie tweets. While this is the only Jacqui-specific thing out there. So it's bound to get a lot more. So I wouldn't be surprised, but it's far from conclusive as well.

As a sidenote, the Kano render looked way more plastic and unfinished (no chest hair!) than the in-game Kano model we've now seen. So if people actually hate this render, they should relax. Personally I think she looks great.

I'm really hoping she's my style of character for that exact reason.
I didn't want her in at all, I didn't in MKX either, and I'm sorry but I hated the damn cornrows because they didn't look right on her. Also, Full Auto was unbearable.
That being said...THIS Jacqui looks like she would blow that Jacqui's back out with her gauntlets and smile doing it.
The future suit makes perfect sense because she from what I understand is the tech nerd.
The cold deadpan stare is about what I'd expect from a woman born and raised and versed in all this.

Some people -- yes. However, it fundamentally depends on where people are coming from with their criticisms: whether it's purely superficial ("tits") / prejudicial ("character sucks"), or from a gameplay ("guns") and / or legitimate design critique ("generic") standpoint.

Indeed, to proof this thesis, critics of Jacqui (et al.) could turn the argument back upon those who seemingly "love" anything and everything that NRS have done...

I can't believe this character that almost everybody disliked gets an instant second chance whereas characters like Fujin, Havik, Reiko, Nitara etc., who were much better recieved by fans, remain ignored. I'm amazed!

DELETE this chick and bring in Sindel. The Queen is unique among the females in her looks and special powers, she enriches the roster. Or, bring in Nitara, who also looks unique among the MK females, and have her and Skarlet fight for blood.

The fuck do you expect Special Forces and Black Dragon to do, try to kung fu everyone? That works in a tournament like MK1 and MK2. MK11 is not a tournament.

Yeah it's a fighting game and yeah NRS has to make up a way to make everything come down to a 1v1 battle in the end, but on the way there they have to at least PRETEND that the story makes sense. And that means when you see an army of thousands of demons coming your way, you shoot the fucking shit out of them.

Johnny carries a handgun with him in his default skin, but does he use it when he's dropping fools 1v1? No. It's a measure of last resort. It's visual storytelling. "This is how dangerous the MK world is, that even Johnny has to have a gun on him just in case."
