Not the thread for the argument but in terms of this thread, all I'm saying is I don't think its surprising that the second best inj2 player lost in dbfz. Then again sonic could be hiding something idk

Ppl still talk about sonic like he's king. He's not even the best nrs player rn. He might win every event this year and return to that spot but lets not talk as if this is new. He lost evo and eleague last year in his game. Not bashing sonic just wishing there was more acknowledgement to other players than "sf is our best player" all the time.
Sonic lost three tournaments last year. He won literally every other one. If this was something like the SFV scene, where there are a lot of diverse standings to pull from so EVO and Capcom Cup are the best deciding factors, I can get where you are coming from. But when one guy wins 98% of your majors, I think it's safe to say he's the best in the game

Terrible times breed terrible things, my lord.
Didn't know about the set until this morning. Have to say Go1 has been on point for awhile now.

That set was hype. Maximum power! The game is so fresh and only a couple months old and you can already see such incredible high level play already.

Damn good exhibition and example of breaking the limits of the game. Can't wait for Evo this year.

See....now you're going into a different argument. Don't open up those flood gates playa!

Anyways...

Yeah....that was fucking hard to watch...I mean, the first 3 matches he completely shut his A.Gohan down which was beautiful! But when GO1 got a chance to finally play him, it was a wrap. And i had no idea about them crazy ass leg loops. OH MY SWEET GURKENS! That was naaaaasty and Sonicfox knew halfway he was getting his shit pushed in which is why he kept on laughing throughout the sets.

Thank goodness it wasn't for any money, but MAYBE there can be a rematch down the line with something to put up for grabs rather than bragging rights to sweeten the pot. I have a feeling this confrontation aint over. ;)

I've seen this story before and way back to Injustice1 when Sonic started out and overcame his demons... KDZ, Jupiter, etc they all beat him in tournament and in dominating fashion but in the end he was the undisputed best. Then MVCi came out and Fchamp dominated Sonic online then sonic came back and beat him, then ChrisG @ Winter Brawl, he lost then learned from his losses and won the tournament the next day. I see it again and again people doubting him, " Oh he lost Evo" "Look what happens when you put him against a player with good defense/offense" " look what happens when you play other games" "Look what happens when you put him vs an international player"

I wouldn't be surprised if he wins DBZ @ Final Round in tournament setting vs GO1.

Nothing is certain for sure. We'll see how will this set go against Go1. Personally, I root for Go1 to stop this monster. Go1 has been in anime FGs more than fox has.

Let's see how will it go in the finals.

That was a response.

When G01 won at a local in Japan he took the mic and called out Sonic.. by saying "Your Next"... all Sonic did was respond and accept the challenge. Pretty simple, and not a trace of bad manures.. in fact it would be lame if he didn't respond.

G01 Calling out Sonic
You know, I tried to work out a response for this or retort to dismiss Fox while praising GO1 and i can't. I did not realize Sonic wasn't being a jackass, for once, and was responding to a challenge. That's on me, and I feel I should apologize for my ignorance on that one.

not likely, but it doesnt matter. losing a ft10 is a bigger deal than a ft2. sepaeates the nrs players from the men.

daigo’s never lost a ft10 at Ken and he’s played the sf evo champs during their reign like infiltration, xian and recently tokido. they may have won the tourney doesnt necessarily make them the stronger player

Yea winning the actual tourney isn’t as big as a ft 10... makes sense..

Your butt hurt with sonic is strong..

Tokido's a scrub though, why mention him? He just got 10-4'd himself

I WILL EAT THIS GAME
That said, Losers Bracket Sonic is something else entirely, and Go1 winning has very likely made Sonic more terrifying and more dangerous than he was already. If Sonic has a defining competitive characteristic, aside from his raw skill - its his ability to bounce back stronger than before.

This ft10 was good for the FGC as a whole, and we need more of this stuff.
